Neck tenderness and cracking

Ive had a tender neck for a while and i feel like i have to crack it all the time to get full movement.
It also really hurts down my spine when i stretch my neck downwards.

Now an xray did not show anything rong so i am getting some physio on it soon when the doctor sorts it out.

Will they tell me to stop going to the gym ?

Re: Neck tenderness and cracking

Who knows.

Cracking is just the release of a gassy build up in the muscles.

Sore/Tender necks are more often than not a postural issue - sitting at a PC wrong, bad shoes etc etc etc

Physio / Massage / Trigger Point combined with some exercise works for me if I get a really bad neck...

Or in my case - cheating on barbell shoulder press! I have been hammering all the joint and cartilage supplements available for at least a year and a half now and they have helped to some extent. I really should get it checked out someday though ..
