With the interest in abbesses of late I thought I would post something on the subject,I hope im in the right section. There are many reasons abbesses and boils form and can happen to anyone, but the following is a general over view

OK here goes, what is an abscess
an abscess is a collection of a few things white blood cells(our own bodies defence),bacteria and dead cells, we all call this PUS ,it’s a pool of this pus that’s lying under the skin, that causes the swelling, redness and pain,
So if this can happen to any one why the AAS user
Our bodies covered in a fantastic line of defence against all little nasty bacteria called skin and since we are breaking this defence and introducing a foreign substance then this is why it happens to AAS users.
What causes abbesses?
The majority of abbesses are formed by bacteria (e.g. staphylococcus to name one) which in turn produces toxin’s that damage cells, our body senses this attack and produces white blood cells, whilst this battle is taken place some body tissue dies and a void is formed, which in turn fills with pus and we have an abbesses.
What if it’s not treated?
If untreated the battle continues, more tissue damage. a larger void is formed and the abscess grows causing more swelling a great deal of pain and if your lucky it will eventually burst if close enough to the surface, by this time I cant imagine the pain you’d be in. I’ve never herd of any one not receiving medical intervention at this stage due to the pain. but and it is a big BUT if this is not treated you could get blood poisoning, light headed flu like symptoms feeling very weak and lethargic you may pass out and lose consciousness
Treatment
Is simple and can be performed by your GP if caught early, with a course of Anti biotics he may also lance, if all the early stages are ignored and you just hope it goes away, and it doesn’t. You may need to go to hospital, the seriousness of this depends how long you’ve left it. an operation will be performed to drain the abscess, which will be sent of to find out which bacteria it is they need to be fighting with antis, it will then be packed, followed by an aggressive co**** of anti biotics, if detained in hospital this may be threw a drip, this will be followed up by a community nurse or more visits to the hospital, to get the dressings changed until clear. There will be a scar and dent because of tissue loss.
Prevention is not 100%
But can be greatly reduced
Always follow sterile protocol
Know as much as you can about what you’re using
