Red swollen fingers on right hand - UK-Muscle Body Building Community

Hi there, a few months in and I started feeling a tenderness in the ends of my fingers in my right hand. Got worse until all the ends of my fingers, from the end joint to the tips were red and swollen, and tender to the touch, particularly with anything vaguely sharp or metallic. They also get very hot and throb slightly at nights sometimes.

Now this has been the case for two months or so. I've been to the docs and had a blood test and they couldn't find anything wrong. So I'm about to make another appointment.

In the meantime I wanted to ask whether anyone had suffered from anything similar. I don't use gloves, they don't cover the finger ends anyway. I train mainly with free weights, dumbbells and barbells.

It's a real pain, not so much for working out but for everyday stuff like using kitchen utensils and keys.

Any ideas?

I had that years ago when i was a labourer on a building site, handling bricks all day made them red raw for some reason..... you handling any chemicals at all

Are you putting your hand/fingers anywhere you shouldn't?

Nope, don't think so. Just hit the weights 3 or 4 times a week. Spend the rest of the time in front of a keyboard.
