Re: Bump on my wrist.

My girlfriend pay almost $60 a month at her new job with the state. When out baby is born in august it's going to go up. Her insurance won't cover me since we aren't married. $60 may not sound like much, but when she's only making $11/hour this is a good bit of money.

Medicade covers her now since she is pregnant. But they didn't give her coverage until she was almost 6 months. Which meens that if you're unable to afford your sonograms and such then you just wouldn't be going to have your baby checked up on. Every stated has a different form of health care, but florida is horrible. It usually comes down to politics.

Republicans don't believe in health care for everyone. Not if the government has to pay for it. I forget who it was on the news the other day that said "Americans have no problems paying for car insurance, so why not health insurance." I see what he's trying to say, but if you don't have car insurance you ride the bus or ilegally drive your uninsurred car. What do you do if you don't have health insurance????

This comes down to thier veiws on taxes.

Re: Bump on my wrist.

It's one of the few things we seem to have right in the UK, despite all the complaints about the NHS. I remember my buddy & board member Supercell going to Greece last year & having to go to hospital. The hospital was so bad, he realised just how good our healthcare is by comparison.

I would love to go & live in the U.S but this is one thing that would have me thinking twice before I decided to leave the U.K.

Back on topic, if you do decide to drain it yourself, be careful & make sure you disinfect & dress it afterwards, although I'm sure you would anyway. The hit it with a book method is not quite as crazy as it seems & may actually prove to be less painful in the long run.

Re: Bump on my wrist.

Ok, is on the side of the wrist or the top of the wrist?
I have on on the side and that bump ios the size of a small pee.

If it is on top then yes it is a ganglion cyst, mine grew after I took some EQ and it never went away but it does not hurt and does not effect range of motion so I opted to just let it go.

Once those ganglion cyst get into the nerves and get some roots it is hard to get them to go away, if the operation is sooner rather than later then you have a better chance at it.

Re: Bump on my wrist.

Mine is on the underside(palm side) just below my thumb. Ganglion can show up on either side of the wrist, on you hands, and even on your feet. Mine seems to have gotten a tiny bit smaller but I still see it.

Re: Bump on my wrist.

i have one on top of my wrist where my wrist meets my hand, its a right pain the in the **** it stops my hand bending back quite a lot which hinders me from doing press ups! Also if i lean on my hand sitting down or something then it hurts more and mine is around the size of a 10p piece its quite big. I've whacked mine constantly with books/bottles(when drunk) and it still won't go away. I'm ringing the doctors this week to try get it sorted out!

Re: Bump on my wrist.

That's nothing. I had a pilonidal cyst right in the crack of my ass ever since I was 16. Sound funny doesn't it? Laugh it up now you hairy bastards because you will probably get one too. Hairy people like myself are prone to 'em.

Had it removed twice now. Hasn't come back yet but I've felt it trying too. You have no idea what pain is until you get one of these. And the laughs when you get back to work and everyone is giggling at the hole in your ass.

I had a pilonidal cyst on my tail bone, I think I got it from being on a tabogin in the snow and had alot of impact and bruised my tail bone.
It would flair up and I could not sit down.

then one day the doc cut a huge chunk out of the center and let it heal from the inside out and it never came back.

Re: Bump on my wrist.

I thought mine was from traume I suffered to my tailbone when I was a child. The doc told me differently. I found this on wikipedia that explains better then I can.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A pilonidal cyst (from Latin meaning 'hair nest') is a blanket term for any type of skin infection near the tailbone. These are normally quite painful, occur somewhat more often in men than in women, and normally happen in early adulthood. Although usually found near the tailbone, this painful condition can be found in several places, including the navel or the armpit. Development of the condition in a place other than the tailbone is exceedingly rare, however. It usually happens in young people, up to their thirties in age. Conditions in which it commonly occurs include obesity, body hair around the area in question, and a sedentary lifestyle. While a traumatic event is not believed to cause a pilonidal cyst, such an event has been known to inflame existing cysts.

Re: Bump on my wrist.

Ok, that does explain that.
But, it did flair after brusing my tailbone.
But maybe it was there just waiting to pain me
