Re: HEAD PAINS?!

You guys may be able to help me.

My girlfriend has always suffered from migraines/headaches for years, but for the past 7/8 weeks she has been suffering from excruciating head pains (she describes it as an exploding-type pain) constantly, 24/7, 7 days a week.

She went to her doctors who gave her loads of different medication (this was obviously when the issue first came about) & nothing worked. She went back & they referred her for an MRI scan.

So a month ago she had the MRI & they said estimated time for results is 10-14 days - still nothing has been heard. We've chased & chased, but they keep saying the neurologist consultant comes in once a week to look through patients scans - what a joke!!

Also, she's randomly fainting/passing out without any prior warning (which isn't good when she's looking after a 1 year old baby) & gets dizzy up to 5 times a day where she has to sit down until she's sorted.

I'm not getting too worried just yet, but anyone have any ideas?

Sorry for the rant, but the hospital just seem to be sitting on it.

Re: HEAD PAINS?!

As fustrating as it is Chris,i dont think anyone can give you any sort of diagnosis without guessing. There are many causes for such symptoms, some trivial, some significant.

Obviously this doesn't explain the head pain but could your missus be pregnant again?

No, because you have to have sex to get a woman pregnant.....

Only joking...

I think it may be a nerve or something. Just wait until the NHS pull their finger out of their anus.

Re: HEAD PAINS?!

Hello Chris, hope the missus is ok? When you can, mention to nurse/doctor/consultant (whomever) could it be cluster headaches? If it is a posibility, then mention the use use of oxygen therapy.

Re: HEAD PAINS?!

Hi Getting On,

What are cluster headaches?

She says the pain is a lot worse than a migraine. So if a cluster headache is not as bad as a migraine, it definitely won't be that.

Re: HEAD PAINS?!

Imagine a migraine - then multiply it by 10x. Thats a cluster headache. I deliver O2 to patients with this problem mate. It might not be, but I might be an idea to mention it.

Thanks mate. I appreciate your advice.

Is random fainting a symptom for cluster headaches?

In all honesty Chris, I don't know. I am not medically trained, but can't help but pick up/learn some snippets.

Re: HEAD PAINS?!

i have suffered from migraines/tension headaches and cluster headaches all my life :( 25 years of agony. I atleast now can tell when they are coming as I lose part of my vision and completely lose my preferral vison also.. Doesnt matter what i take it still cripples me the last one took three days to subside, Docs back home have done all the test and I am fine but stuck with these buggers for life :( I feel for anyone who gets this sorta pain as it puts stop to anything you are doing....

No vision and throwing your guts up with a head ache that could cripple a elephant aint much fun!!

Re: HEAD PAINS?!

No worries pal. They do take a few weeks to get going, mention to the consultant that you have been doing a lot research on the headaches etc...

Creatine did make the headaches bad! Are you taking this? if so what amount?

Get on the drug that worked for me, come of the creatine and get some rest you'll be fine.

Keep me upto date on this one matey.
