Re: FREE Pulse Samples!

ok thought i'd give my 2 pence worth on the free samples of pulse from myprotein, so here goes!

Active Ingredients (per 20g (experienced) serving):

Dual Carb (Dextrose, Palatinose®): 10g
Perform and Pump (AAKG, CEE, Beta Alanine): 6g
Focus Matrix: (Glucuronolactone, Tyrosine, Guarana): 2g

Ingredients: Dual Carb (Dextrose, Palatinose®), Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate (AAKG), Creatine Ethyl Ester HCl, Beta Alanine, Glucuronolactone, L-Tyrosine, Guarana Extract (22%).

Thursday 6th September: 10g taken at 5pm on an empty stomach!
Trained Chest & Bicep's at 5.30pm

pump was quite good (no jokes guys ;) ) while working my chest, when i got onto the arms it was also better as i was able to lift a bit more than normal and by the end of my session i felt fairly pumped up ....

Friday 7th September: 20g taken at 5pm on an empty stomach!
Trained Back & Traps at 5.30pm

dosage doubled on friday so i expected better results as thursday was a good workout.... altho my back nor traps ever get the same pump as my chest and arms... but felt a little pumped up in the arms again while training back and strength was slighty better again...altho this could be down to many other factors...so i wont say that pulse was the soul cause of it, but i feel it contributed!

on the overall i thought this was a good product... i cant really say to much on it as ive used it for 2 days! but i was happy with the intesisity of the training over the 2 days.

pulse rating 1 rubbish 5 very good

Taste - (4) Sweet tasting
Effectiveness (4) definalty helped my training over the 2 days
Value (5) £20 per kg

thanks to myprotein for sending me a sample when i was late in asking for some!

questions are welcome!

Re: FREE Pulse Samples!

Pluse review:

I received 2 samples of Pulse from My Protein, one 10g and one 20g serving.
Had the 10g 45 minutes before training on an empty stomach, mixed quite well, there was some little lumps but they soon dissolved. Taste wise it’ll take some getting used to I think but drinkable.
Can’t say I noticed much from the 10g portion size to be honest. The 20g portion gave better results had a good pump on the chest after bench presses and dumbbell fly’s, training intensity was up a bit more than usual and had good workout but 100mg caffeine tab could have done that at a much reduced cost. The pump didn’t last long after the session ended.
Hard to give a more detailed review with only 30g of product to sample.

Conclusion:
• Worked better at the high portion size.
• Taste could be improved.
• Would probably work better for a long lasting pump if taken more often.
• Nice if you like this sort of thing but it’s not for me.

Re: FREE Pulse Samples!

I finally had a chance to use the two trial samples received.

Monday - 10g taken 30 minutes before training on an empty stomach.

As far as initial taste was concerned I actually liked it. to me it almost add an acidic apple type taste. More than pallatable.

However I did find it quite difficult to get it to dissolve completely in the 150ml suggested and eventually ended up swallowing some of it as it refused to dissolve at the bottom of the glass.

I don't use pre workout drinks normally so hoped to get a bit of a buzz from it. I didn't ge the buzz I expected it but it certainly did help with my workout and got a few more reps out on the old triceps exercises.

All in all not a bad trial.

Tuesday - 20g taken 30 minutes before training on an empty stomach.

I decided to try and mix this with more water so mixed it with 500ml of water and it dissolved much better. If I was to use this regularly then I would probably use 500ml with the 20g mix.

I felt more energised going into the gym and it certainly showed during the back sets where I lifted more and got more reps out.

In summary I will almost certainly buy a tub of this just to find out whether the 20g session was due to a placebo effect or not. If it wasn't then I would find this supplement invaluable. I'm not a hardcore trainer by any means but if it can increase the intensity in the same way as my back session then it will be added to my supplement list.

Pulse rating 1= Very Poor - 5 = Invaluable

Taste = 5 (I actually liked the taste)
Effectiveness = 4 (I think using the 20g proved very effective but can't say the 10g would benefit many people)
Value = 5 (at £19.95 per kg and only requiring 20g per workout I think it's a bargain)
