Nabba in 4 days...help!

Hi guys, been a while! Need some advice...i am competing in 4 days and have had diarohea and stomach cramps for over a week now!!! Decarb phase of the diet is hard enough, but this iskilling me. I am on my second course of ciprofloxacillin, but am now panicking. I start carbing up tomorrow, and am still loading with water, but cut it on Thurs...Any pearls of wisdom???? Feel like i am holding water, and sooo shi**y i can hardly do anything - excuse the pun!
I have been in 2 shows since July and attached are some pictures...

Best and quickest way to remove the virus/bug that is causing the prob is to avoid all solid foods for the next 12-24hrs and flush the thing out of you,use very watered down whey and carb drinks(pref ones with lots vit/mins in there, powerbar being my fave, cyclist shops sell it) the absence of solid foods will allow the body more time and energy to fight the virus so get rid of it quicker, watch children or animals when they are sick...they avoid eating but continue to drink, this is natural bodily instinct....and it works...the wife can shift a cold in 24hrs if she avoids solid food and just drinks water with fruit juices.....

got to agree with OSC on this one mate consume only liquid meals for 24hrs then go back to the diet.
are you doing the NABBA England show if so then do this until thursday morning then increase both your Carbs and Protein slowly throughout the day.

Carb up?

thanks for the advice....
won my first show, but peaked 24 hours late for the second one...had a problem with weigh in(ifbb) and couldnt carb up properly! still had to lose .4kg in 1hr to make my category at the weigh in.

liquid foods...whey...how do i start replenishing my glycogen stores. the carb up drinks over here in SA are full of sugar, so not an option. someone mentioned mixing custard powder with water to bind everything - sounds dodge to me, but am willing to try anything.
i am loading on oats(with couple of egg whites), sweet spuds and cream of wheat porridge - also butternut(low calories, but high carbs). am avoiding basmati rice due to bug tho.

as far as protein goes, should i cancel all fish and ostrich meat and replace with whey? sorry for all the questions, you just get used to doing something a certain way, and whey at this point goes against everything i have been advised in the past...

am also cutting sodium today and loading water....

Buster if you are starting your carb up today then you can use some simple sugars as at the start of the carb up phase so to push in the carbs faster then swap over to longer acting carbs.
i would just carb up with one source though i found that Sweet Spuds/Yams are an ideal choice i would'nt use Oats though especially if you have a stomach bug due to the wheat in the oats.

As for protein i would actually stick with fish as your body will break it down easeir than red/white meat but switch back to the ostrich for the last 24hrs to help dry out.

that makes a whole lot of sense - thanks ps!

what is your feeling on whey protein powder leading up to the show at this point?

ps, it is the NABBA South Africa show that i am entering...never competed in uk, apart from my very first show in Belfast..also Nabba.

so, would you say oats is a no-go for normal carb ups(without this virus?)...? just thought that it may be an easier way of taking carbs in.

what type of fats and how much, would you say i should be on bearing in mind my present, sickly state?

thanks for the help...

yea after i posted i realised you are in SA....

i cut my Whey out at the 3 day mark and swap to whole protein sources.
i used to carb up using Oats but i am coached by Harold Marillier a fellow South African and he advocates using Sweet Spud/Yams i did it this way for my last 2 shows and placed in the NABBA finals...

as for fats i tend to use sodium free Peanut Butter or UDO's oil..

how are you looking at the moment.

looking ok,very full - but feel like i am holdding water. vascularity is there and deep cuts, still searching for real striations....
ps - do i still eliminate carbs at night, or is that irrelevant now?
stomach seems to have settled slightly, but am still the farting king which means that all is still not well down yonder...

if you are feeling full at this point then i wouldn't carb up any more you have 3 days left and could spill.
holding water is not that bad at the moment as long as it is'nt too much i would say to drown yourself in water and drink 12L per day from now until 5.oopm the day before the show then cut your water totally until after the show.

what is your plan for the last 48hrs..?

I dont know if anybody caught this but I think it is from the anti-biotics.

Are you taking cipro?
That destroys your intestinal flora and will give you diarrhea.
Take some lactobacillus acidophilus or other probiotics, you will need this soon.
When one gets diarrhea from antibiotics this is a good time to tell your DR.
At this point if this is the cause then your intestinal flora is gone.
Intestinal flora is very important for your immune system and digestion and many things.
Yogurt is one way of getting this but if you are dieting, then I would go by the stuff that is in the health food store and take that.
It comes in liquid (refrigerated), or pill form.
Bloating will go away too and so will the gas.

Foods that help diarrhea?..........when children get sick the doctors will put them on what is called a B.R.A.T diet. It's banana's, rice, applesauce, toast.
Although these are all carbs and not a good idea for your contest.
Also oatmeal is good for that too.
