| Mature Bodybuilder | Re: MrGum's journal Hi, Mr Gum, glad to see you are training harder than ever. Just been watching some of Ross's videos on core training (and hardcore training ). I have just been given a skipping rope as a gift so I think I may just be giving that an airing! Love skipping and it is excellent cardio as well....just get strange looks from people in the street....LOL I have decided that after my bb contest in October I am going to do the kickboxing twice a week at least and return to interclub fighting. I intend to work that in with the hard weight training, and Ross's workouts certainly give inspiration. I have taken today off as a complete rest day and I am off the weights for a week for an enforced rest. I will still do bodyconditioning and cardio for the full week as well as practise posing. I have been training very hard and quick and I think it has been taking a mental toll on me as well as the physical one. I have had a few dark days lately, with precontest panic setting in big style and an emotional roller coaster ride. After a few kind words from another member of this site who competes I am now starting to put things into perspective and think sensibly again. BUt on the bright side, I look better at 7 weeks out from the contest than I did when I last competed! |

| Shallow, one-dimensional, obsessive. | Re: MrGum's journal Cheers Greekgoddess. Happy skipping! Did my 11 mile run tonight. I took it at a pretty brisk pace, quite happy with it. I've discovered a useful technique for helping me stretch. I get my 8yr old son to sit on my back as I am doing the basic hamstring stretch. Works wonders - don't have to work at pulling myself down, just focus on relaxing into it. Tomorrow I am hoping to do a Ross workout called "Sequential Fatigue" mark |

| Shallow, one-dimensional, obsessive. | Re: MrGum's journal Did the same "Core" workout from earlier in the week. Then I did a thing called "25 rep roulette" Burpee Clean and press sandbag (20kg) Lunge with sandbag held over the head. (25 reps) It was hard and I couldn't really go very fast. Fun and different. mark |

| Mature Bodybuilder | Re: MrGum's journal So am I- hiding in the shadows so you can't all see the pain on my face from the hardcore training I am being subjected to at the moment! Being trained by a friend who is an ex pro bodybuilder. Have made more breakthroughs in a few days than I have in months of training on my own. Have details on my journal. Glad to hear you are still training Mr Gum, I miss it when you don't post on your journal. At least you know some people are still reading it! |
