Re: Daves Progress - started 3/4/08

Stick with it mate, how will you know if your training and diet are spot on unless you do years of training natural.

Honest it's surprising how far you can get natural and you will probably get accussed of taking them anyway before you even do. I was accussed of taking them and at time had taken nothing but protein a 5x5 routine and one massive bulking diet (ok bulking wasnt clean enough bu tit packed some muscle on) Then mates etc started saying i must be on them
They couldnt understand while they sit and watch eastenders I am in the gym. while they eat bags of crisps I am eating a family size portion of chicken.

Anyway they may be right now but i still wouldnt tell them

All this and i am not even that big!

Re: Daves Progress - started 3/4/08

cheers colin! to be fair you really give me alot of motivation i really appreciate it mate! shall buy you a pint or something in the future! bound to run into you at a show or something eventually lol

colt, i lift my chest to the bar, although i dont really do many chin ups now as i do lateral pull downs instead

i have thought about doing them behind the head, but ive been told it can lead to injury

Re: Daves Progress - started 3/4/08

right first of all OW!

legs are ruined once again!

squats were perfect form - 75kg for 8 reps, seem to have more energy today so shall start at 72.5kg next week and push on

leg press - DOUBLED! - 100kg for 10 reps so next week shall start at 100 at work my way foward

leg extensions 86kg for 8 reps

and calves, maxed out the machine, 140 kg for 40 reps (split into 10)

i think last few weeks i was holding myself back, maybe its because im weary around new equipment or new people who knows!

anyways ive got out of that funk and steaming ahead...(today at least)

Re: Daves Progress - started 3/4/08

wow i must stop holding myself back from the heavy weights!

90kg - 10
95kg - 8 reps
100kg - 6 reps
102.5kg - 5 reps

i had absolutely no grip by the end of it, last rep for the 102.5kg's was held on by my finger tips

may invest in some straps, or should i keep at it and my grip will improve? also perhaps involve some more forearm work....

free weight row machine -
40kg - 10 reps
50kg - 8 reps
60kg - 4 reps - i died here, back was really twitching

Re: Daves Progress - started 3/4/08

i personally would suggest chalk as opposed to straps mate

but i dont use either, starting to struggle with grip a little bit lately so i may go down the chalk route

Re: Daves Progress - started 3/4/08

Good going mate. Those weights are climbing all the time.

Do you use mixed grip when dead lifting? (one palm facing you one palm facing out) this tens to help me lift more .

Cheers

Colin

Re: Daves Progress - started 3/4/08

hey mate, i would get some straps personally, but only use them once you cant grip at all really, because your grip strength will still improve if you don't use them all the time! quality piece of kit tho! keep up the good work
