I quit for her in the first place and looking back at it know it was definately the wrong choice...it put me 4 yrs behind and I lost every gain I had made prior...Best of luck...(#*%(^&#^%&!^%^#(!%^(!^^!#^ |

You don't need to write a novel...just update on training day's...you know the importance of it or you wouldn't have gotten to 17 pages of it...Ok i'll go away now...but only for a little while... |

I cant help but sigh at your post, as cellaratt says, best of luck, but to me this seems all wrong. A good relationship is all about give and take- your girl should support you and take an interest in what you're doing, not force you to choose between the two.... Just because you approached it the wrong way the first time doesn't mean to say you'll make that mistake again does it? Aaaaargh, there's so much I want to say, but at the end of the day it's all down to balance. Do you really want a women to control your life, your ambitions? Because we will try and this one seems to be doing a good job. It is possible to focus on an interest like BB'ing and still be happy with a loved one, I know because I'm doing it. K x

Nice punI know where you're coming from MrK. I spent quite a few years overly dedicated to MA. I missed so much of family life it's still a wonder that my wife didn't leave me, she wasn't happy about it though and those few years she said she felt like a single parent. When I eventually woke up and realised what I was doing with my life I did step back, it was hard and took a long time because I had established so much that was hard to break away from. Now I'm a recreational martial artist, just as I aim to be a recreational bb, which is why I ask questions like this http://www.uk-muscle.co.uk/food-diet...tml#post502016 Ok so I won't get a body like Con & the other big guys on here but in honesty at my stage of life I'm not looking to anyway, but if I can become fitter & healthier with a bit more muscle I'll be happier, not that I'm not happy enough now without those things. Personally I think you've done the right thing, obsessive behavior in any walk of life is for the few, not the many, and I'm not one of the few, I'd rather walk the middle road. Glad you're sticking around though Davey I enjoy your posts ![]() Last edited by MartialArtMan; 02-08-2008 at 03:27 PM.

| It's what you do on the outside that makes you | Re: Daves Progress - started 3/4/08 cheers martial man mate! your personal experience was a possible future for me and im glad i was snapped out of it i mean im about to start on an oil refinery and i know my diet will go out of the window and my training will be' when i can' so i suppose i preparing myself aswell i mean she is totally worth it, she the only person i truely talk to, can easily let my guard down around her and she makes me so much happier than a body building physique ever could like i say im still going to be hitting the gym and wholesome foods in good proportions so i wont be returning to 10stone again thanks guys ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Daves Progress - started 3/4/08 And just read the above. Thats a shame mate as you were doing so well. Im lucky where my fiance was brought up around bodybuilding and her father being mick hart she has had to deal with it from being a nipper. Saying that after competing a few years ago I stepped back and didnt train consistantly had a child (not me lol) etc etc. But I decided that I like being a bodybuilder and that was the person my fiance knew fromt he begining anyway. Alot of guys hold a solid relationship and still manage to bodybuild. Afterall trainin only takes an hour 3-4 times per week. As long as you have some good quality time woth your partner and make her feel as improtant as your hobbies/goals then im sur eyou can manage both. All the best mate. |

I would do what makes you happy but be careful about compromising too much. Compromise is good dude as she obviously means a great deal to you but at the same time nothing wrong with being focused. You will obviously make your choices and all the best mate.

| It's what you do on the outside that makes you | Re: Daves Progress - started 3/4/08 process operator on the refinery which will vary between night shifts and day shifts in 4 day periods, im not so concerned over it, but it would take some getting used to for sure like i say though guys, i shall continue training im just going to be more flexible about it, i used to put the gym before my misses e.g. 'no cant see you tonight got the gym' and sometimes it would be her only day off for like another week, i know id hate being put second place in a relationship over something thats quite superficial. just means im happier now to miss or move a day when needed thats all ![]() thanks for all the feedback guys! |

Not sure why people are making comments like someones just died. Your still working out, eating well, posting on the forum - but you've got your bird back..life dont get much better! Just give us an update every now and again as to how life is treating you. And thanks for the journal so far, your training was the catalyst for my renewed motivation at the gym, awesome.
