Ahhh thanks hun!

Thats nice of you to say! tbh though I always think I should be able to lift more! Never satisfied.

The whole carb cycling thing is confusing me, have't had any time to sit down and actually work it all out but I gotta few hours to myself tonight to have a look at it tonight so hopefully will be on it next week!

I'm more determined than ever to get myself into shape because I really want to compete next year!

Smithy26: Training is coming along well, have started my carb cycling diet today, albeit a modified one, (am doing 6 low carb and 1 high day) but am doing well so far considering its only 8:15am! Hahah!

Training chest and shoulders tonight, havent done them for ages, was meant to do them yesterday but hit the beach instead!! Was luuuuvvvvly!

Pictures will come soon I promise, I'd like to see how I come along this week with carb cycling to see if it makes much difference before I post pics again... !

Training yesterday as follows:

07:00am 30 mins cardio (walking to work uphill all the way!)

18:30 Gym - Chest & Shoulders

Warm Up: Flat DB Bench Press 3 x 12 @ 12kg

Flat DB Bench Press 3 x 12 @ 18kg
Standing DB Shoulder Press 3 x 12 @ 10 kg
Incline DB Fly 3 x 12 @ 14 kg
DB Pullovers 3 x 12 @ 8 kg
Lateral Raise 3 x 12 @ 3 kg each side

30 mins cardio: Cross Trainer (Interval)
15 Mins cardio: Treadmill 5.5kph @ Incline 6.0

Haven't done chest and shoulders for ages so kept the weight slightly under what I do normally so I don't end up crippled today! Shoulders and chest feeling good though, just slightly achy, great feeling!

Was up at 5:45am this morning, went for pre-breakfast cardio. 20 mins round the block, mostly up hill! Have a feeling I'm gonna be very sleepy come 4pm!

Excellent progress being made. With regard to carb cycling I think you should add 1-2 medium days in there. Too many low days IMO .. would only adopt that protocol if I was dieting for a show and had a few last stubborn bits to lose. 4 low, 2 medium and 1 high combined with cardio is sufficient IMO. What's your water intake like?

Thanks for the above, very helpful... I know I prob should have med days in there too, just easier to stick to one thing all week though.. Hahaha being lazy!

Seated Leg Press 1 x 12 @ 70kg / 2 x 12 @ 79kg
Seated Leg Curl 3 x 12 @ 40kg
Leg Extension 2 x 12 @ 35kg / 1 x 12 @ 42kg
Calf raises 3 x 20 @ 70kg

25 mins mixed cardio.

Another reason to add the medium days in is what are you gonna do when the fat loss from the carb cycling slows down? Up your cardio? Add in zero days? When it slows down you can take out a medium day to kickstart things again. Just take the time to plan your cycling out a bit more and honestly it will be worth the extra bit of effort ;). Out of interest how many carbs are you taking in?

Water intake is spot on

Felt like such a weakling in the gym last night......

But here's what I did:

Warm up
40kg Assist Pullups 3 x 12

BB Deadlifts: (inc bar weight)
1 x 12 @ 30kg
1 x 10 @ 40kg
1 x 8 @ 40kg

Assist Pullups:
2 x 10 @ 30kg
1 x 8 @ 30kg

Close Grip Pulldowns:
3 x 12 @ 35kg 42 NEXT SESSION

Single Arm Rows:
3 x 12 @ 9kg 10KG NEXT SESSION

Tricep Cable extension:
3 x 12 @ 3.75

Standing DB Curls:
3 x 10 @ 7kg 8KG NEXT SESSION

Tricep Rope Extension:
3 x 12 @ 11.25kg

45 mins cardio

Marsbar: Sorry for late reply... tbh I've been sticking to fairly low carbs for the last week, between 50-100g...ish...and eating them early in the day. I will get my a*** in gear at some point and sort it out properly!

Hi Kate, I know that feeling mate, Im drinking 5 litres per day, work in an open plan office of about 90 people and most of em think i am up to no good keep going off to the loo! Still, like your journal.......!

30 mins HIIT cardio (Bike)
15 mins cardio (incline trainer)

Felt great after this session.

Although there was some chick in the gym making sooooooo much noise! And it was putting me right off! OMG!!! First of all she was making kinda 'whooooosh' noises and proceeded to make really loud kinda groaning noises... and I mean really loud. I could hear her in the changing rooms.

No need for it IMO.

Was tempted to go and tell her to shut the fcuk up!

LOL

Next session: FRIDAY!
