New Boy - Hi

Hey Guys, just come across this site and decided to join,
I’m new to the whole gym seen, I’m 26, 5’11 and 9.5 stone. I joined my local gym a few months ago, Esporta. I really want to build myself up. Currently my chest is 34inch, waist 30inch and really sickey arms. I really enjoy going to the gym but feel very alone when I’m there, I use the weight machine but I don’t really no what I’m doing, the gym is full of other guys, how never even look at me. (Sorry sounds like I’m feeling really sorry for myself, lol). I’ve been looking though this site and all you guys are real inspiration to me, I would love it if you guys could give me some advice and how I should start to build up and be conferred at the gym…

Sorry I have not uploaded any pictures of myself but I don’t think I would dare…

hey fox why dont you speak to someone that works in the gym and they can design you a program to get you started? If you are too embarrased to approach anyone then look for info on this site or order a few books off the net to get you started

hey, when i first started i had two sessions with one member of staff and all they showed me was the pool and changing rooms, then showed me a very basic cardio work out. I’m not to sure about personal training I will ask…

HI m8 welcome to the board

my advice is do compunds all the way and dont train too much e.g do deadlifts, squats, over head press, bench press etc and have a good diet which means eating a good mix of carbs, protein and good fats (omegas 3,6 and 9's) and rest good!

My advice,find a new gym,something more hardcore.

You will find plenty of good lad's(and lasses!) more than willing to give you advice in this sort of enviroment.

NEVER feel out of place at a gym as long as your not doing stupid **** like curling in a squat rack you have as much place as any one else there, when i started going to the gym i was so intimidated by the big fellas i just hid down by the machines for the first few months lol.
