Arrow 2008 is the year!

Hey all. After a year of health issues, 2008 will be the year i knuckle down and get on with growing. I have been wanting to transform myself for a year now, and now i think i am ready to go for it.
I am by no means as good as any of the guys already posting on here, but i want to be able to show my progress on my quest to grow huge. Any tips and advice you guys can give me would be gratefully appreciated. Here are a few pictures of how i am looking now. I plan to upload new ones every couple of months or when i believe i have any reasonable progress.
Thanks for your time and i hope everyone has a great start to 2008.

James

TBH m8 i wouldn't really compare yourself to others on here for several reasons, obviously they have been training for longer so they would be in better positions than you but nothing that hard work good diet and even better rest can not catch up on! Also if you do compare yourself to others you can fall trap of getting too inpatient with yourself and your gains and try jumping the gun too soon if you know what i mean!!!

My advice to you m8 is only compare yourself to yourself, and as long as you eat good, train hard and rest properly you will grow like a weed!

In-case you have not already dont it post up your diet and also your program and me and other will look it over!

Best of luck with training!

Good luck mate.

My bit of advice is simple: Don't just be one of these regular 'January' gym goers who give up or lose motivation after 3 weeks and cancel their subscription by Feb.

I hope it works out for you, do your research, stick with it and work hard and you can't fail to see results

Re: 2008 is the year!

Thanks for your kind comments. It isn't the January fad thing, i have been a member of my gym for 3 years now, but i have been unlucky with a few health scares. Over the past year i have been able to do some training, and i have reduced myself from 16 stone of fat to an average 13 stone.

My diet typically consists of:

Breakfast - 8 Egg whites and 2 yolks, 2 slices of wholemeal toast, 2 rashers turkey bacon, glass of fruit juice and a tea

Mid morning - Protein shake and a piece of fruit

Lunch - Chicken or Tuna salad with a low fat dressing

Mid Afternoon - Tin of Tuna

Pre workout - Energy bar and drink

Post workout - Protein shake

Last Meal - Tuna steak and steamed veg with a jacket potato

IMHO try doing just a 3 day split at first to start getting some good gains then if you want to you can always go back to this routine and remember to do a LOT of compound movements e.g dead-lifts, squats, OHP, bent-over row etc as these are the movements that will bring up your gains along with a good diet and plenty of rest as what you have got to always bear in mind is that you dont grow in the gym you grow out side especially while sleeping believe it or not, so make sure you have at-least 7 hours straight sleep without waking, and after waking replenish protein levels as your body has just gone through a 7 hour fasting state!

TBH i usually drink a 100% pure whey protein shake when i wake up so it goes straight into my system and them have breakfast after!

All the best with the gains, sorry about the long winded post lol and keep us posted!

Also post up your actual training program that you do on these days as we might be able to help adjust it a little!

Hi jmz, JMO mate, but doing tri's the day after chest may overtrain them, the same with doing back the day after bi's.
Pesonally i'd do, chest/tri's , back/bi's, or opposing groups IE; chest/back , bi's/tri's. Also, why don't you train lats on back day?.
