Seriously bud, you need some guidance before you do yourself a serious mischief. I could'nt care less about how much I impress people with the weight I shift. Some things I'm strong on with textbook form, others I have to go lighter than most to keep the form strict. So be it. Gaining the admiration of your peers is not going to be much solice to you when you tear your shoulder to bits or prolapse a disc & have to stop training altogether. It's only going to impress those who don't really know what they are looking at anyway. Sorry to preach, but I would hate to see you come a cropper.

| Newbie Trainer | Re: Hi people = update bah i have seen worse. everyone is different I know i arched my back on the 160 - who cares, i know i used my legs to drive the weight, who cares. Many people do train like that. What is your main goal with your training though? Is it muscle size, or strength, because the type of training required will differ depending on what it is you want. If it's pure strength, then textbook form may not be crucial, but we are all human and sooner or later something will go 'twang!'. I thought I was invincible until I got a minor bicep tear a few years back. Now I train a bit lighter, but with strict form & slow tempo & have grown far more than before. I comment only out of concern (and imagine everyone else does) so please don't misinterpret the responses. I believe in sharing good practice so will always say what I feel is in the best interests of the listner.
