Bawla South West Bench Press and Deadlift Champion 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004, BPO Welsh Open 82.5kg category (Novice) Champion, BPC 2002 British bench Press Championships 82.5kg category Champion and a few others, your form would NEVER get a single white light, 3 reds all the way I'm afraid. The only reason my titles stop at 2004 is due to a feeling that I have been there and done that and have nothing left to prove, not through injury, my form was always text book and in all my time of competing I never, ever had a lift disallowed as poor form equals poor results. Not sure why you would want to do this movement in such a way when the weight is moving through momentum rather than through strength, can you tell me what your heaviest press is when you keep comp form i.e hold at the top, pause at the bottom of the movement (resting but not compressing on top of the chest) for 1 second and then hold again at the top until told to rack? I dont want to take this impressive weight from you, but how could this be seen as a serious bodybuilding/powerlifting website if we awarded you for what is potentially dangerous to your own safety? If you want to shift some serious weight safely, get yourself a good bench shirt, a spotter and then do it safely, then EVERYONE on here will give you the praise and support you will so rightly deserve. In the meantime as Terry Wogan so clearly puts it at the Eurovision song contest, you my friend get Nil Points! Last edited by LeanShredded; 19-02-2007 at 12:58 PM. |

My best Bench was 167.5kg, my deadlift was 280kg and my squat was 260kg at a bodyweight of 81kg, this was also back when I was clean. It also depends on who 'bombs out', (when they fail 3 lifts in a row they are not allowed to continue in the competition), this happens quite frequently and you will see many powerlifters fail and be disqualified as they have picked an opening weight that is too heavy and cant move the bloody thing! So if they turn up and fail the 3 lifts on the bench they are out of the show and its easy pickings to the winnings, (as long as you dont fail and no-one else beats you that is). I always recomend people to do a powerlifting show, its a great discipline even for bodybuilders, it builds a great base for your physique, a much harder, denser, brutal muscle is your foundation, look at some of the worlds greatest bodybuilders, Ronnie Coleman, Flex Wheeler, Dennis James etc, all of them are from a powerlifting background, there is no better testiment than that! |

If I were in your situation and looking to improve on something it would be delts. |
