![]() | Journal of rs007, the haggis eating cat rapist ginger lover This is actually quite hard actually. Ok, where am I at... well I am hovering around 255ish just now at 5ft 11. Dont get your hopes up, I'm fat. I have put this in members pictures for now, but there prob wont be any meaningfull pics for a good few weeks. Reason being is I look like a hairy fat albino walrus. Except a walrus has bigger legs than me. I am not carrying a lot of size, I am first to say it - got a lot of filling out to do next couple of years before I'll look half decent; this might seem to people like I am putting myself down and being negative, but those that know me know this isn't the case - its just my cold logical and realistic appraisal of the situation. So, why the journal? I don't actually really know, just thought I would start one, and see where it goes. Might go nowhere and drop off, I have a habit of being a bit inconsistent with forums and short of time so I might just abandon it. Or it might go on, we'll see. It will probably be slow on updates for the first few weeks anyway. And it goes without saying banter, arguments and hijacks are welcome as always as long as within the rules of the board of course ![]() Currently thinking of competing next year. Well, I say compete, I realistically know I don't have the size to be proper competitive (again just being realistic) - I just need to at least cut, maybe get on stage, because if I don't I'm worried I'll never get back to the right mindset. Took 2nd half of 2008 and all 2009 out with the well laid plans of getting more size on... well you know what they said about well laid plans... motivation hit an all time low, and finances just didn't allow me the luxury of enough food/supps to do the job, one problem compouding the other. So I just kinda idled along, concentrated on strength in a couple of lifts the latter part of this year, and that kinda helped focus/mindset a bit. So, like I say, to combat this, and kinda get myself on a clean slate, I am certainly running some form of diet regardless, and may get on stage at the end of it. I have already cleaned up my diet a little and started gentle cardio, in preparation for start of January when I'll step it up. As for what competitive route to take, I am undecided. I really fancy a crack at UKBFF classics, the popularity is increasing all the time and the cap on size suits guys like me - but I know I will need to lose some lean tissue - I have gained if even only slightly from last time on stage in 2008, and although I could have been tighter, I was still 14-7ish. Around a stone too heavy for my wieght limit. I feel my shape and frame could really stand me well in classics if I could make the limit so this may be an option... particularly if a change in job comes about which it will actually suit me to temporarily dump wieght anyway. The other option is I go as full bore as finances can allow from Jan onward, aiming for Class1 in NABBA. I'd hopefully be able to "grow" a little into my diet which I have done before - realistically I'm not going to gain tonnes tho, so it will have to be a matter of getting as skinless as possible in order to look good on stage. I'll be honest, I am not sure if I can be ar$ed to hurt enough for either option though, I don't know the full extent of what this motivation dive has done - just being honest - which is why I say right now this might all fall by the wayside. Anyway, probably the sh1ttest start to a journal ever, but lets see where it takes us Last edited by rs007; 04-12-2009 at 12:10 PM. |

subscribed.......are you going to do next year? YAY in advance for pics....as long as they ain't cat interfering ones, unless the cat signs a model release form.....the cat would make you look HUUUUUUGGGGEEEEE! (i'd maybe drop the the interfering part though, at least when the camera is around )(Bri has been taking pics of himself beside wee Lauren for years for a reason...won't be long till he wants another baby to make him look bigger, i'll suggest a hamster would work better hahaha) |

Speaking of protien, current figure is an aimed-for 400g per day or thereabouts. By my reckoning, that should be ample for a stage wieght of 220ish lb - not saying I will be this, but its a good ballpark to aim for, then once the fat comes off, I can tweak protien down if required; right now I'm too far out of condition to pin it any more accurately than that. Carbs hovering around 250-350g per day, this might seem quite low, but my job is desk based, and I am a bit of a fat lazy cnt. Fats are coming in at around 90ish g per day, this is a combination of incidental fat from meat, cheese (not taking that out for a long while yet) and olive oil which I really enjoy drizzling on meat/potatoes anyway but have read a lot of stuff saying that as long as calories don't get excessive, can aid in fat burning. Cardio is 40 minute sessions on stationary cycle, 5 days out of 7, just keeping that gentle right now. I love my cheapass manual treadmill, tears the fat off me, but if I were to go on it just now, I'd have a heart attack - so just pre working my cardio system gently with the bike until start of Jan.
