Post God's Journal

I recently joined the forum and thought it would be a good idea to make a log of my training, diet, targets etc. A bit about me:

Age: 21
Height: 5'9

- Started training when I was 16. Starting weight was 135lbs (always been pretty skinny).

- Trained for a year and a half and upped my weight to 155lbs.

- Got injured (tennis elbow in both forearms) and out for year and a half. In hindsight I would say the injury was caused by poor nutrition and overtraining.

- Weight dropped down to 142lbs.

- Got back into training seriously at the start of 2008 and got weight up to a watery 195lbs, at around 17% body fat, over a 15 month period. At this weight I felt very bloated from being on a heavy bulk for such a long time so decided to cut down to a level where I felt fitter.

- Cut down to 171lbs at around 10% body fat over a 3 month period.

- Now I am bulking back up on my first cycle. My aim is to get up to a fairly lean 200lb by mid summer.

Will update this thread regularly with details on my workouts, what I have been eating and scale readings.

My stats when I started the journal were:
Weight - 173lb
Bench - 110kg
Squat - 180kg
Deadlift - 180kg

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My latest progress photos are on page 30

Thanks. Still very much a working progress, but should hopefully be improving a lot over the coming months.

Re: God's Journal

Went to the gym tonight and trained chest. Appalling weights on the bench but an overall ok session. Did the following:

* 3 Sets on Bench - 60kg warm up - 12 reps , 80kg - 10 reps, 90kg, 4 reps
* 3 sets on Incline Dumbbell presses - 32.5kg - 12 reps, 35kg - 8 reps, 35kg - 6 reps
* 3 sets of flat flyes - 3 sets of 12 using 20kg dumbbells. Probably could have gone a little bit deeper with a lighter weight but wanted to go heavy this week after a light week last time with this exercise
* 3 sets on the pec dec going progressively heavier (12 reps, 8 reps, 4 reps)

Despite not lifting big weights today I did keep the rest between sets short so the session was quite intense and I still think I will be hurting for a few days.

Got the Osteopath tomorrow morning to straighten me out!

lol nothing major. Contrary to what most people think an Osteopath can treat a lot of places on the body so I get my shoulders, hamstrings, knees etc all looked at. I consider it my monthly service! I am going to try and cut it down to bi-monthly though as can't afford it really.

Feel like a new person after going though. I am hoping by looking after my body now the best I can, I will be able to keep lifting weights for many years to come.
