george foreman grills

didint know were to post this guys hope you can help, i normally dry fry my chicken the night before i go to work, but the rubbery taste of it when i microwave it to heat it the next day is doing my nut in.
Come to the conclusion that i may just take my george foreman grill into work and i can cook it as and when so it's tastes better.
Only problem being that i bought this grill pre-bodybuilding and actually never used it before. Now that i actually want to use it i cant find the instruction manual so my question is..............

How long do you leave your chicken breast on the grill before you take it off?

Thanks in advance

Re: george foreman grills

I find the foreman a nightmare for cooking chicken TBH.

It always just cooked the outside and left the inside raw.

You can cut them in half before cooking to stop this, but it is a pain in the erse to do so. Also leaves the chicken dry IMO

Why dont you oven cook the chicken (30mins) the night before and re-heat in microwave at work?

I only bought one recently i think its quite good.
I buy the turkey steaks and put them in for about 5 mins, also tesco sell bags of frozen alaskan pollack, less than £2 for 800g bag and they cook in there from frozen

Re: george foreman grills

I'm assuming you are cooking boneless chicken breast. Is this correct?

If it is thick, slice it horizontally into two fillets and cook both for 4 minutes. It's really not hard to slice in half if you have the right knife and they are a slightly frozen.

Do not cook for more than 5 minutes.

I'll have to try the fish. I've never thought to do fish with the foreman. Thanks Mr. Chef.

I wish our turkey was cheaper than the chicken.

I do like to bake my chicken the night before. I find you can change up seasonings better and cook more at one time.

Re: george foreman grills

I dice up my chicken breast to put on the George foreman at work. It cooks very quickly and tastes ok- not too dry.

If the breast/whatever is too thick it burns soo bad. It's a shame there's no option to change the temp on these things...or a different model where you can.

Re: george foreman grills

I can change the temp on mine. I don't mind the taste, but I'm a big girl & can only eat chicken warm at the moment.

I've had that much cold chicken, I literally can't face it anymore.

Have lot's of eggs now.

Is it a proper george foreman or a another company? I think I'd def invest in one that you can change the temp!!

Re: george foreman grills

When you cook a boneless breast you need to either slice it in half or hammer it flat - otherwise it cooks unevenly beause some areas are too thin and overcook wheras others are too fat and don't cook through.

george foreman grills rock the kasbah.

Re: george foreman grills

I cook 4 breast a day on mine

I cut them up into small segments and cook for 5 minutes with some cajun spice.

Then I put them in a tub with some bounty to get rid of the excess fat.
