Protein Pudding (Inspired By Rheo Blair)

Rheo Blair was famous bodybuilding nutritionist back in the 60's although he had been a very good nutritionist under another name since the 40's. His clients included BBer's, athletes and movie stars all taking his patented system of protein puddings and supplements.

Blairs pudding contained cream and milk& egg powder of his own brand that you can no longer buy. These puddings were eaten 6 times a day and up to 400 tablets of varying ingrediants were taken alongside these puddings per day!

The only carbs Rheo took in were from the lactose in the cream, he never touched more than a couple of slices of tomatoe at one time in his entire life, thus his programme was low carb (but not very low).

I have my own pudding, inspired by Rheo here for you to try or modify:

Simply

100g Double Cream (has to be double so you get the fat with fewer carbs)
1 x Scoop Whey
1x Scoop Egg White Powder (or 30g whey)
1/2 Tablespoon Olive Oil
Sugar free sweetener (stevia etc)

Mix all the ingredients into a pudding and eat with a spoon.

Calories: 637

Protein: 50g

Fat: 36g Sat 33% Poly 03% Mono 22% (oooh yes fish oils needed)

Carbs: 7g

Ratio: 33/04/63

Thanks to OSC for posting the Rheo Blair pdf that spawned hours of research for me that was the inspiration for this recipe.

Regards

SD

So what did you learn from that pdf then?

I`ve used that pudding mixture in the past for a quick cutting experiment, spent 2 weeks on the stuff

But mine had eggs in it....

And glad you liiked the pdf, took you long enough to find it:p

Hey OSC,

I was really interested by the pdf, I haven't just found it I just took a long time to get round to reading it and even longer to give it a try! I have been on the puddings all this week and became ketonic on day 3, a day earlier than last wek before my weekend re-feed.

I liked the idea of a simple diet of puddings and tablets, no food or cooking to worry about and its all so cheap, convenient and portable. It is ideal for the timed carb diet I am doing, whole food would be better, but as a temporary measure whilst I am moving house, its great to not have any significant dishes to do! I also take Liver & HCL/Peptain tabs now as per Rheo's programme.

It would need more lactose carbs in it I think to be Rheo's formula but this suits me better for my current diet and it tastes great! I did work out Rheos formula on Fitday, its pretty much the formula above, just mixed with 2 cups of milk for the carbs I think.

The other point he made was about the Calcium/Phosphate ratio of high protein food, especially meat. It was enlightening because I had just been reading about how high protein diets caused osteoporosis, in fact it inspired me to write my article Calcium Dillema ,which went largely ignored I think :boohoo:

So again thanks for that lil pdf matey and I hope that you are looking forward to seeing 'the 300' when it debutes as much as I am!

Regards

SD

Yeah I went keto very quick on it even when using a lot more cream and eggs than yourself...

The proper way to do it is through peeing on litmus paper (**** sticks) and the ketones alter the colour of the paper...

For me I KNOW when I`m in ketosis through experiance..I get a dryish/pasty mouth and a sort of bad breath taste...
