% body fat

hi guys was wondering how yous messure your precentage body fat so that you know its muscle and not fat gains. I saw some scales which are supposed to pass a small current through your body and tell you % but thought they would be a gimmick

Don't bother with the electronic bf readers such as scales and the other types. They are crap. I had some that told me I was 26% bf all the time when I really ranged from 16% down to 12% according to calipers. My mates said the same thing. They are meant for the average Joe and get confused with muscle.
Accumeasure calipers cost about £12 and are what you need.

They seem good, not sure how accurate they are, (they claim to be v. accurate) but it will give you a much better idea than the crappy scales

Buy a mirror, always find its the best way to monitor progress, you could be 3% bodyfat and look like this:

Expensive for what they are but more relaible than calculations/estimates etc plus you can take a reading as many times you like and get a more accurate figure bu taking an average.
