![]() | Hi guys, I am rapidly approaching 40 and have been training seriously for around a year following a lay off due to injury. I was previously nearing competition standard and have around 17 years gym experience. My problem is weight loss; i am 6.4 and at present 255lbs. I am not fat but have the old tyre around my middle. My top and middle abs are showing but i cannot shift the tyre no matter what i try. I am a vegetarian and eat clean following a six meal a day program. My diet is high protein with low carbs and fat; no dairy products apart from cottage cheese, skim milk and eggs (no yolks), i also drink around a gallon of water a day. Cardio is 4 days a week, first thing in the morning for around 30 minutes, either jogging with my dogs or on the bike. I think that i am doing most things right but this stubborn fat is buggin me now. I have been on this diet strictly for around six weeks. Another thing is that i am due to start a cycle of anabol in two weeks and really didnt want to hold any more water..any surggestions or advice would be appreciated. Respect:lift: |

Have a look at HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) there is some info on it in these links: http://www.cbass.com/FATBURN.HTM http://www.cbass.com/INTERVAL.HTM Post your daily diet and let the members offer some advice. Best of luck, Jock

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I would eat a protein and a fat with every meal. Back off on the carbs some and add the diffrence as a protein and a good fat. Like, avacado, fish oils, olive oil. Your first meal almost has no protein in it. As well as 2:00, 5:00, and 6:00 Just because you are a vegetarian does not mean that you cant have enough protein. Also, vegetarians can have deficiencies in B-12, creatine (from lack of meat), among other things. You might want to supp some of that stuff. I also think that restance training is actually better than cardio for getting rid of fat. You burn fuel while lifting. You also burn fuel while rebuilding, kindof has a double impact here. Also the requirement for fuel in muscle is more and this is kindof dieting all in itself. Muscle requires fuel. Fat is fuel whether stored of consumed. Have you considered some circuit training, like whole body workouts with no rest between sets?

![]() | Thanks Scott Hi Scott, Thanks for the advice. I have not considered circuits as i figured that i would lose mass. If you have a chance i would really appreciate an example diet/workout schedule. I am currently training 3 days a week. Also just about to start an anabol cycle. Please help me if you can Thanks bro. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I fixed you up Jock ![]() You also got an extra bar right now...... hollis, circuit training is nothing more than walking around the gym doing all the lifts in a day without rest. This gives you the benifit of resistance training and cardio at the same time. If you have never done it you will be pretty fetigued when you are done. Example would be like this: Do a set of bench to where it gets hard on the last one, then go do a set of squats, then without rest you do a set of pulldowns, then a set of abs, then a set of hamstrings, then a set of military press, then a set of bent over rows, then a set of biceps, then a set of inclines, then a set of side laterals, then a set of triceps then a set of rear delts then a set of traps then go home. Start out by doing only one set of each bodypart with no rest in between. If you put any intensity into it you will be exhausted at the end. You might need to take a couple of days off but you can do this like 3 times a week. You also can run on your off days. But for cutting, diet is really key. Carbs, fats and protein with every meal. Beings that you are a vegitarian then the Atkins/Keto diet is out of the question.
