Hello I'm new here, but I've frequently visited the board as a guest.
I,ve been training now (on and off) for about five years and have made good gains, 5'6" 15 stone. Even though I have a 34" waist I still carry a bit of body fat (don't we all).
At Christmas I weighed 18 stone which was mostly fat and since then I have lost about 3 stone (cutting calories and eating more frequently).
The problem is,for the past two months I have stuck at 15 stone give or take a pound.I've lowered my calories to the point where I'm light headed all the time with legs like jelly(no good for muscle building).Started cardio on the nights I don't train, but my weight doesn't budge.
I'm totally at my wits end!
This is all very vague I know,I will calculate how much protein carbs and fat I am digesting every day and the amount of cardio I am doing, and somebody may be able to see where I am going wrong!
At the end of the day what is the point in going through all that muscle soreness and spending the money on gym fees etc if you can't see the muscle that you have built!
I also measure my waist to try to get a good guide on my bf but that has stayed the same!

First of all welcome to the board good to have you here. Second of all if you weighed 18 stone last christmas and you are down to 15 then you should give yourself a pat on the back as it is an excellent achievment.

I believe the problem here is that you have been dieting for too long and your body is going into famine like state which means it holds onto all the fat it can and burns muscle tissue instead which isn't good. Your metabolism also slows down the less you eat Without seeing your typical weeks eating I can't make too many recomendations but I suggest you take a few days break and eat high calories, yes I mean it! This will kick-start your metabolism so when you start dieting again you will start losing again. I would keep 1 cheat day a week in which you allow yourself a pizza, takeaway, chocolate etc.

Are you taking any fat burning supplements? If not then you could look into it.

Post your typical weeks diet and excercise and I'm sure we could help more

I was told that circuit resistance training is better than doing cardio training. Circuit training allows the heart rate to raise while still doing resistance training. If you feel the need to do the cardio then do it after you lift. I would not diet to the point of feeling light headed as that is not even good for you. You could try eating 5-7 times a day but smaller meals. You did not say how old you are. The older you are the easier to gain weight.

Thanks for the replys guys.
I'm 28 years old hackskii so I should have no excuses, just need to build my knowledge on how to diet properly!
I,ll work out my daily intake and post so you can see where i'm going wrong.
Trained my biceps with legs today and in my arms I get a good pump,so I get good definition and vascularity.(I thought if my bodyfat was a lot lower i'd look like that all the time, cold!)
I don,t mean to sound vain, but this is what it is all about!
Cheers Jimbob
PS Raven, no I haven't looked into fat burning suppliments?
What is clenbuterol and what are its effects on your body?

Clenbuteral is a drug used to treat asthma but it has thermongenic effects whuch means it makes your body burn fat better. It is generally more effective that ECA.
