New here - need to lose my belly

Hi guys and gals.

Upon a little advise from other members of the forum, I figured I'd jump in feet first to get the ball rolling.

My main objective is to lose my belly. After a new job, I managed to become less active and started to fill out. Things have to change!!

I live away from home during the week and do not have use of the cooking utensils I'd need, so id be looking to prepare my food at the beginning of the week and heat it in the evenings. I have been mainly eating chicken, rice with some type of tomato sauce as its quick and easy to do. But I need an alternative or Ill end up turning into a chicken!

Anyone have any Ideas? I definately dont want to end up knocking on Mr Mcdonalds door!!!

Re: New here - need to lose my belly

how much do you weigh?

whats your height? waist measurement?

calorie intake for the week?

you need to be in a calorie deficit but to know what the deficit is you need to work out your maintenance calories.

do you train? and if so how?

sorry for the questions but posting up "i want to lose weight" is not very helpful

I understand fully, I should have thought about that a little better

I weight 78.3kg

I am 5'8"

By waist measurement do you mean hips or belly?

I aim to have 1500 calories a day - But need to stop the lager...

Can you explain the deficit bit? - is that where I burn more than I take in?

I am looking for a new gym but think I have found one now, so I will be looking at 20mins running, 20mins cross training and 25 minutes on resistance per workout, three times a week - would it be better to do resistance one day, then cardio the next?

I hope this helps

1500 Calories is too low dude, you need to find out what your maintenence intake should be, then you take 500-600 off it this is you in Calorie deficit.

By burning more than you take in you will start to lose fat. But youe diet has to to be spot on, and your cardio must be at least 2 x a day, 45mins each session low intensity.

Id normaly do 45mins morning on empty belly, then 45mins after my training session at night.

No cardio everyday!!

What is your diet like??

Re: New here - need to lose my belly

Ive signed up to www.nutracheckmen.co.uk so I can keep an eye on my calorie intake and it says my BMR is 1844kCals per day and my typical daily activities require 1291kCals per day. A total of 3135kCals per day. Does this sound about right?

It states, to acheive 2lbs a week weight loss I need to have an intake of 2135kCals per day and burn at least 200kCals per day.

My diet isnt as good as it should be, that was the main reason for this thread - to try and tidy it up a bit... I think id be stuffed if I ate 2135kCals per day of my normal foods

Re: New here - need to lose my belly

give it time, a high protein diet will increase your metabolism by an average 30%

just give it time dude and dont say no to your food, unless like me, start to throw up

what a waste of carbs that day was

I like to start early.
Breakfast #1 100g oats plus protein powder
Breakfats #2 (about 10am) 100g oats plus protein.

Once you get started, it's easy just eat large and often
