Cutting on 2600 cals/day?

I'm trying to get lean and was eating 2400 calories/day, but found that my bodyfat didn't budge and I actually lost a couple of pounds over a week. At first I thought I was actually losing fat, but it turns out that the electronic hand-held thing I'd used was a crock of sh*te. I've since got some callipers and they seem to be accurate and consistent.

Given the steady BF and reduced lean mass, I'm thinking maybe I'm not eating enough, therefore my metabolism has slowed right down and I've gone catabolic. I was wondering if I should up my calories by 200/day to see what effect this has, but don't want to risk wasting a week only to find I've eaten too much and haven't lost any fat. 2600 cals/day sounds a lot for a cutting diet.

I'm 26, 5ft 10, 183 lb with BF of 13%. I do a sedentary job but am doing 60 mins of fairly intense cardio, 5 times per week (usually burning about 700 cals each time according to the machine, although I've no idea how accurate it is). I've also kept up my 3 x 40 min weights sessions per week (split routine- back & shoulders, chest & biceps then abs & triceps. No leg training at the mo).

I eat 6 times per day, 1st meal at about 06:15 and the last at about 21:30. At the moment my nutrient ratios are 30C-45P-25F for 3 days, then a re-feed of 3100 calories at 45C-35P-20F for a day, followed by 2 more low carbs days, then a final high day.
My diet is very clean, with virtually no saturated fat or refined sugar.

Am I just eating too much? I don't want to lose the muscle I've got & never felt full on 2400 calories/day so I didn't dare cut calories further in case I started to waste away, but 2400 calories/day didn't get me results so something has to change.

Re: Cutting on 2600 cals/day?

Perhaps move away from static intakes of X amount of calories day in day out and look at cycling calories through carb cycling
