Re: Reducing body fat reduces insulin resistance?

Not universally no, but there are some methods employed to address both

Re: Reducing body fat reduces insulin resistance?

as a general rule lowering one's bodyfat (especially that around the abdomen) should, to some extents, enhance the effectivness of one's own insulin.

Re: Reducing body fat reduces insulin resistance?

You're probably looking for some additional or supplemental answer but simply by exercising you are lowering insulin insensitivity. Exercise has been shown to increase GLUT4 in striated muscle cells whilst lowering it in adipose cells, making muscle sensitive but adipose insensitive.

Re: Reducing body fat reduces insulin resistance?

I thought resistance training increases insulin sensitivity.

What is adipose?

Re: Reducing body fat reduces insulin resistance?

Increases sensitivity in muscle.
Lowers sensitivity in bodyfat.

Make more sense?

Make more sense?
1) therefore muscle growth increases?
2) therefore likeliness to store fat decreases?
