afraid to do atkins again.

I 've lost 100 pounds with atkins, however seems that my body frame is medium-to-small. I am 5'10 I was 280 pounds before, I got to a point were I was weiging 170lbs HOWEVER I still had flab en my belly, althoughn you couldnt see it when wearing a dressshirt even if it a lil tight. But looking my selft at the mirrow wasnt that good. Since then I've gone to the gym, I had minimal gains I can see em, when the muscles a pumped! (w/ atkins you can't really bulk cuz of the ketosis).

However, after onths of hibernation I went back to 200 then back to 185 since then I switched to a regular higcarb diet (it's been 3 1/2 months). I am seeing minimal results my shirts fit tighter but I think its because of the fat gained, cuz my pants no longer FIT! I was 33 now i am 34 or 36.

I want to be able to go back to atkins, but I am afraid I am going to look skinny again and I will lose all that muscle gain in the past 8 months which is minimal.

You might say to check my current diet. 6 meals (40-60grams carbs X 21 -25 grams protein X 50 grams of fat). A day.

Any suggestions?

I dont understand your diet breakdown as its not clear but imo go

200-250g protein................800-1000kcals

100-150g carbs..................400-600kcals

70-100g fats......................620-900kcals

1830-2500kcals

I having 6 meals a day. Each meal contains between 40-60 grams of carbs, between 21-25 grams protein and 50-60 grams of fat.

Wow, that would be alot of fat, beings that fat = 9 cals per gram
2700/3240 cals from your fat.
960/1440 cals from carbs.
504/600 cals from protein.

I love the Atkins myself but I prefere the zone based diets where you do more like
40/30/30 total calories for carbohydrates/proteins/fats.

LOL at my breakdown!

ACtually what I wanted to say was:

I having 6 meals a day. Each meal contains between 40-60 grams of carbs, between 21-25 grams protein and 50-60 grams of fat

50-60 grams of fat in total not on each meal. But the other breakdowns dfor carbs and proteins are per meal.

SORRY!

your protein is way too low in ratio to your carbs

Ig you were to have them the other way around and raise your fats, it would be better for someone trying to bulk but stay lean

Yep protein too low and I would add extra fats so that they are higher than your carbs per meal and either have your carbs ONLY after your workout or ONLY on a weekend in the form of veg/salads and other high fibre slow releaseing ones, you can bulk on atkins(hate that term he didnt invented the bloody idea, rant rant rant,LOL)you just have to up your total amount of daily calories.

Just to understand a lil more... How do you bulk up w/ this type of diet?, just by adding more intake calories?, under 20 grams of carbs a day?

Meat and eggs lots of both vegetables and fruits with nuts and seeds protein powder mixed with either full fat milk or narural yoghurt and if you feel you do need some extra carbs after a hard workout then use brown rice or any oter high fibre carb source.

Oh yah, never split the whites from the yolk. If you can find free range eggs buy them as they have 19 times the omega 3's as regular store bought eggs.

I would try and stay away from breads, there are much better carb sources than that.
