Help me loose my little belly

My little love pod is bugging me now and I want rid, but I need to keep my energy levels high for all the cardio I do.

My weight has stayed constant for months and months (Just shy of 70kg) and I don't have much fat elsewhere but my waistline (33inch) is starting to bug me!

Typical days food

Breakfast7am
2scoops oats
1scoop whey

Midmorning10am
2bananas

Midday
50g Cashew

Lunch (1:30-2ish)
2x Jacket Potatoes
1x Tin of Tuna (or mackerel)
2x dollops of low fat mayo
Probably too much butter

Mid afternoon 3-4ish
2bananas

Dinner 6-7
100g Basmati rice
266g lean mince
Homemade tomato sauce

POST EXERCISE

Scoop Whey
Scoop Oats

Typical weeks exercise

Monday
Cycle 37km

Tuesday
Swim 1.5km

Wednesday
REST

Thursday
Cycle 38km

Friday
Swim 1.5km

Saturday
Cycle 67.7km

Sunday
Swim 1.5km

I'm not running at the moment through injury, but from next week will be back pounding the tarmac again so will be adding that back into the schedule.

I know I don't eat enough veg btw ;)

So where do I start?

Re: Help me loose my little belly

Maybe try dropping the carbs a little for a while and upping your intake of fats?

Carb cycling?

Fat Burners?

If I drop the carbs is it going to leave me with the energy to do everything though?

I want to stay away from things like fat burners also...

Re: Help me loose my little belly

Yes by upping your fat intake as opposed to carbs, the body will be forced to use this as energy... you may feel a slight drop to start with but it's not permanent.

Read up on Carb Cycling- it sounds like you might benefit from it!

My belly is a lot flatter when I first wake up as well, someone suggested I could be holding water?

4 bananas per day? Is that over kill on potassium - im no expert tho?!
I would just reduce calories a little. Calculate your daily calorie needs with one of the threads on this site and try eating with a slight daily calorie deficiency?

Any increase in either sodium or potassium (both vital metals in the body for normal cell function) can unbalance the water potential of the cells in the body. By increasing the concentration of either causes more water to move into cells to counteract the high levels of the above. This may be what is causing your water retention.

I would cut down on the bananas a little- perhaps 1-2 a day would be sufficent.

They have a relatively high glycemic index which causes the sugars to be easily released into the body- this also affects the water concentration in the body's cells... thus spiking blood sugars and causing water to pass from outside blood cells to inside.. anyway.. enough about that.. water retention can also be caused by not drinking enough water.. how much are you getting per day?

Judging by the amount of cardio you do, i'm guessing you must be needing about 4-5 litres per day!

Re: Help me loose my little belly

hi mate, i've been using Animal cuts for the last 3 weeks, and they are designed to get rid of excess water, i know this could be seen as a bad thing but as a temp measure they are awesome, not only do they get rid of water, they have excellent fat burning properties, each bag (42 in a pack) contains the equivilant to 8 cups of coffee, caffeen wise. i've dropped around 4-5% BF in those 3 weeks and kept size and definition.

take a look

http://www.jbc-nutrition.co.uk/fat-l...imal-cuts.html

this could be a good way to get rid of water and that might be the key to losing the last of your tum.

Yes.... or I'd try vegetables instead... leafy green ones, like spinach and broccoli, they contain carbs also so may benefit you in the energy stakes!

I was 93kg and am now down to 88kg, i have been doing a spartan workout and my diet has consisted of chicken veg and some sweet pots for a treat!! :-)

i would say im down to the 10% mark now and i was 15-16% before, it has been 4 weeks i tell a lie as the animal cuts last for 3 weeks then you have to wait a week before you can go back on, and i just started again today.

i feel i was holding alot of water, these tabs have really helped me.
