Whats wrong with my diet...

ok i've manged to get a few days in the sun in a few weeks, so thought i'd go on a bit of a diet try to cut some weight, basically get beach ready.

Im quite lean most of the year round, at the mo my abs are just, visible So i want to get them popping out, my diets been like this

9am 4 Eggs scrambled on wholemeal toast or 3 eggs with oats

11am banana, Chicken sandwich on wholemeal

1pm tuna pasta

2.30pm Protein shake & oat flapjack

4.00pm Potatoes & Steak & veg

6.30pm post workout protein shake & Fruit

8.00pm Protien shake

10pm 2 eggs poached on wholemeal bread (sometimes rotated with fish & veg)

Throughout the day i have 3 cups of green tea and about 3 litres of water
supplements

am pm

3 x Fish oils 3 x Fish oils
3 x T bomb II 3x T bomb II
1 x Vitamin C 1 x Vitamin
1 X Vitmain E
1 x Multivit

As i said i just want to shift a bit of fat, my training has invloved a lot more cardio, skipping/treadmil, thai boxing...im still fitting in 3 days of weight training beacuse i dont want to lose too much size

Any diet or training adjustments, i spoke to a guy this morning who recomended cutting carbs out after 3pm. im finding the diet ok, but feeling a bit flat when it comes to training

Re: Whats wrong with my diet...

You could try changing your bread based meals to wholemeal pittas or wraps.
Maybe swap the pasta for brown / basmati rice or a sweet spud.

I would also drop the toast before bed.

I have to say mate, thats a huge ammount of food, how heavy are you ?

I'd go 5 eggs and 25g-50g cheese red/yellow peppers (personal preference)

11am banana, Chicken sandwich on wholemeal
all good
1pm tuna pasta
also good
2.30pm Protein shake & oat flapjack
good
4.00pm Potatoes & Steak & veg
I'd be tempted to knock out the mash and have more steak and veg
6.30pm post workout protein shake & Fruit
looks good get a good 50g cabs in here
8.00pm Protien shake
have it with a fat or carb say 20 ml olive oil + 30g whey = 300 calories
10pm 2 eggs poached on wholemeal bread (sometimes rotated with fish & veg)
roasted fish with veg would be better, but you could have more eggs / cheese. as long as its good fat and protein it don't matter
Throughout the day i have 3 cups of green tea and about 3 litres of water
supplements

am pm

3 x Fish oils 3 x Fish oils up these to 15 a day
3 x T bomb II 3x T bomb II
1 x Vitamin C 1 x Vitamin 3* 500 mg per day (blunts cortisol)
1 X Vitmain E
1 x Multivit

Like the person you spoke to I'd be tempted to replace carbs with fats, which is alot easier as they keep you full for a long time.

Depending on your lbm you should be within about a 500 kcal deficit.

170 lb lbm = around 2000 kcal cut depending which formula you use and how active you are.

Your better off partitioning your meals into carbs and proteins of fats and proteins. Carbs should really be worked around training.

You should jump into your deficit straight away, this keeps your hormones high for a few days and enables you to burn more body fat quickly while staying moderately anabolic.

Edit: The fish oils are also noticeable for fat loss at about 15g pd if you get some cla it noticeably increases the effect.

Yup the above would help.

MXD's is more of a nutrient partitioning one.

P+C or P+F meals is the short answer gen.

Re: Whats wrong with my diet...

Cheers Boyos, i'll have a little mess with the diet, bequeth i've actually cut quite a bit of weight, ive come down from 180lbs (12.9) to 168 (11.11) in the past few weeks im thinking of trying to get down to 155lbs which would be a great fighting weight as im only 5'6''...No short jokes im bigger than TT so **** off

I didnt think i was consuming so much food until i laid it out like that, most of the meals are high protein/lowish carbs fats though so i dont think im overly consuming a lot of calories as ive been doing quite a bit of cardio lately.

I'll chaneg a few meals and maybe even cut carbs after a certain time in the day, thanks guys

Re: Whats wrong with my diet...

mxd the vit C total 2g per day.
15g per day of fish oils man thats a lot of capsules...fortunatly taking tablets dosent bother me
Whats the reasoning behind that amount?
Con i was thinking of cutting that out, i'll probably swop that for a protein shake or some chicken & veg

Re: Whats wrong with my diet...

In my experience 15g is the level that noticeably aids fat loss, coupled with cla and you get some good results.

You wanna split the vit c into 500mg doses anything over that is oxidant.

Re: Whats wrong with my diet...

The only thing though that is different to this diet to the diet i like to follow i like to have a mix of protein carbs veg and also fats in every meal that i have, which is the basis of the diatia diet by Chef-x but which is also very similar to the zone diet also which is basically having a mixed ratio of everything!

I often think that too many people make things over complicated when it comes to diet as i use to as well but thats just the way it goes i guess!

15 grams of vit c per day WTF?!
Split into 500mg doses so take it 30 times per day firstly it would have to be a miricle supplument and work wonders for me to even consider taking it 30 times per day also where did you read this info?!
