cheat meals

Hello all

i have been sticking to my diet plan religously and never miss a meal, always eat ontime and stick to portions ect. i have a cheat meal every second Friday in the evening.
Today im real excited as im going out for a meal with my Mrs to celebrate our new arrival (baby girl) and im gonna have a curry with as much fizzy pop as i can drink. I have been craving this since my last cheat meal two weeks ago.

I hope im not gonna get flamed for this but i was just wondering if you guys get as excited over treats and what your favorite cheats, vices are?

Also is this ok to cheat every now and then and what are the limits to free days and cheat meals?

Re: cheat meals

No-one can flame you over this mate.

Anyone who has dieted hard will know the importance of a cheat meal. Not only does it replenish glycogen in the muscles it also keeps you head strong and gives you something to look forward to. I'm quite a fan of pizza and KFC but curry is lovely aswell.. I'm currentlt craving fish and chips but will have to wait until after my competition!

Re: cheat meals

There lost of different way to do it mate.

In the past ive done one cheat meal every 3 days which was good but dont go over the tope. I used to have like 1 maccies burger whatever i wanted or says cheesey beans on toast.

At the moment im strict in the week but i have weekends off. Saturdays i have say a subway and then an evening meal and a few pints then sunday i cook something nice.

I find if i dont allow my self a cheat then after a while i totaly pack the diet in and binge eat for ages. I think if your in it for the long run which is what yo shuld be then regular treat meals are a must.

Remember a bit of what you fancy now and again does you good.

Re: cheat meals

Yeah i generally have a curry n some chocolate on a sunday nite but eat clean every other meal/snack of the week. Doesnt really bother me because a year or so ago i had takeaway more or less evry night and chocolate at least once a day.
I'm 4 stone lighter now so i'm thinking the new system works well for me. And now i dont really like white bread or rice, or potatoes actually so i guess my tastes have changed for the better too.
Once every 2 weeks wont hurt you, and yeah i look forward to it all week long too.

Re: cheat meals

I see a cheat meal as a reward for the effort i put into the rest of my diet, and like Luke has said,it is also beneficial as it boosts metabolism, aids replenishment and keeps you sane!

So go and enjoy yourself mate.

Re: cheat meals

I have at least 1 cheat meal per week, every week and it does no harm whatsoever.

To me a cheat meal is a proper cheat meal though, i.e english breakfast, indian, chinese, KFC, pizza, kebab etc.

To some people though a cheat meal is adding a sauce to their chicken and brocolli !

PS
I had the KFC fully loaded meal yesterday and it was fookin heaven - with a diet coke of course !

well done kelly.km for sticking to the diet. One cheat meal every 2 weeks is tough.

Congrats on your baby girl and eat and drink as much as you can tonight.

Re: cheat meals

I drink loads of coffee 'cause I find it suppresses my appetite.

Todays diet looks like this:-

Breakfast:- Weetabix with whey powder drink with semi skimmed milk.
Mid morning snack:- Scrambled eggs with beans
Lunch:- Single egg sandwich
Afternoon snack: Whey with water + banana
Evening Meal:- Some pasta (not too much) + veggies
Bedtime: Whey drink with milk + spoonful of peanut butter.

Everyday is the same. I feel borderline starving all the time. It's murder. I allow myself one cheat meal a week. Usually Pizza. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
This will teach me to get fat in the first place.

Kelly. Congrats on the baby
