little bit of fat

okay ive a bit of a problem, my body fat levels are ok exsept on my ab area, theres just a little bit of fat i need to get rid of . I follow a good diet with low carb and good protein intake i allso do 3 -4 hi intense 30 min cardio sesions per week.
my question is am i going to loose muscle size on the rest of my body by doing this amount of cardio, but then if i stop doing cardio i wont loose the bit of fat around my waist.

what would be my best option on getting my abs showing and still keeping my size.

thanks

Re: little bit of fat

Pre-breakfast cardio.. I do 30mins walking at an incline on treadmill then 15mins on Xtrainer. This will burn into your fat. Eat between 4-6 clean meals a day and continue your weight training and you should loose fat and keep your muscle size/increase muscle size.

*groan*

Fasted cardio is catabolic. It's only AAS users which don't feel the wrath of catabolism due to the vast amounts of exogenus test in their bloodstream...

Consume some BCAAs & Glutamine, or a small portion of whey in water with a small about of carbs to stave of catabolism...

Re: little bit of fat

I have exactly the same problem, my six pack only starts coming though when im weighing 13.5 stone. I normaly weigh 14.5-15 stone and think the rest of my body is pretty lean! i hate the fact i have to loose to much muscle and fat to get the abs i desire..I think agreee with my nemsis above and will try glutamine again as when i used to bix, i used it to maintain strength and recover quicker..just its pretty pricy to do all the time

Agreed, if you haven't eaten for 7-9 hours you need something to prevent catabolism.

Unfuelled AM cardio does work but needs to be treated with respect.

Lol @ nemesis.

You shouldn't need to loose muscle in order to get your abs out mate.

Abs are however one of the last places on males in which fat is removed. The other being glutes. This is mainly due to hormones/genetic make up.

The only thing is most people think they are alot (upto 5%...) leaner than they actually are...

Its not just the glutamine... Its the BCAAs or the whey also...

I did....

Fasted cardio is catabolic. It's only AAS users which don't feel the wrath of catabolism due to the vast amounts of exogenus test in their bloodstream...

Non fasted cardio is better... HIIT seems to be one of the best methods for cardio based fat loss when combined with correct diet and training...

HOWEVER.... HIIT is not advised during pre-comp...
