staying at six percent

Is it possible or productive to stay at around six percent bodyfat post contest for the most part of the offseason? i.e. would it in anyway impede muscle growth if all other factors were amply catered for?

Re: staying at six percent

its possibly but muscle growth will suffer i think.. its such a fine line trying to stay that lean and add mass.. cardio would of course play a part and timing of macros in the diet also would be hard to work out.. trying to time the carb intake around the weigh sessions so u get maximum energy and recover but no excess for fat storeage

Re: staying at six percent

Yeah, you'd have to have you're diet absolutely spot on in order to gain only muscle and no fat at all, perhaps what I'm talking about, more precisely, is a starting point of say 5% bodyfat and say six months hence, when the offseason is done, a finishing point of perhaps 7 or 8%, obviously taking into account some additional water retention.
The thinking is that one doesn't envisage a dieting phase of more than six to eight weeks; however, with the other demand of wishing for a maximally productive offseason.
