My Cutting Diet (pls read and comment)

Ok i'll try tell you as much as possible to give you a good picture.

I'm 25 and been lifting for 4 years now im 5"11 and 87kg, i dont know my bmi but i can barely see my abs and would say i have 'quite' a bit of muscle (my jelly will make make me look bigger ). I've decided to try cut up a little for the summer and last week started the following diet.

I train 6 days a week having sundays off and only lift weights at the moment (go through periods of doing cardio but thats another story), I go in the sauna after the gym for 10 minutes but drink around 2 - 3l of water a day and keep an eye on my urine to make sure i keep it clear.

My diets is as follows

0900: Porridge with caesin protein, multi vit, fish oil, cod liver oil, vit C.
1200: 3 cod fillets, 1 whole egg, 1 egg white and mixed veg
1500: same as 1200
1800: same as 1200, multi vit, fish oil, cod liver oil, vit C.
2100: caesin protein shake.

I train at differant times day to day but usually between meals and have a whey protein shake afterwards with a rice cake.

The reason I eat the same meal 3 times a day is due to work, i make it in the morning and stick it in tubs. The meal could change ie. tuna instead of cod or cottage cheese etc. but whats your feelings on eating 3 of the same meals a day? I thought it would be ok as it has high protein, little fat with some carbs...

On Sundays I'll have a cheat day but not go too crazy ie. Nando's etc.

any feedback would be great guys, thanks

Your diet is severley lacking in variety mate. Not only will it get monotonous but you are neglecting your fibre and carb intake.

Are the fillets you have covered in breadcrumb? If they are scrap them. Get some simple carbs and whey post workout and then fibrous veg and lean meat for tea.

You can get protein from loads of sources mate what about chicken, lean minced beef etc?

You can't really expect to do zero cardio and get results mate you should be aiming to do at least 3 mornings a week of 40mins+ unfuelled steady-state cardio.

I wouldn't train 6 days a week unless your are on steroids, if you are natural you are giving your body 1 day to recover, that is madness! Train 3 days a week max using compound exercises.

For more constructive criticism post your diet with portion sizes, marco breakdowns etc

Re: My Cutting Diet (pls read and comment)

thanks for taking the time to reply...

I've started doing some walking on the treadmill for an hour and ill try do it every other day making it 3/4 times a week.

The fish is pure cod fillets, nothing else.

as for the diet my mixed vedge consisted on brockelli, carrots and cauliflower which i though would contain enough fibre??? what else would you suggest? as for monotonous i understand what your saying i will try change it to 3 diff meals that i cook in the morning.

If you can stick to that diet fair play but i know i couldnt for more than 3 weeks or so and then the very sight of cod would make me puke, it will however get you very lean perhaps some muscle will be lost in the process....

Re: My Cutting Diet (pls read and comment)

Cheers i've slightly tweeked it with some brown pasta, chicken and lean steak, the cod was around 20g protein and no fat at all really. Some of the old school bodybuilders i talk to ie. bill heyworth (worth a google) swear on cod and rice diets...

My diet will be a continious tweeking process untill i'm happy
