calories etc

last uninformed post guys
calories - anyone count?
how do you work out the calorific amount? buy your weight?
I ahvent trained in 20years, but this week is it, initially pressups etc and a lot of cycling to shift some pounds.
any things worth reading - any help appreciated - as lots have changed.
my main objective is losing my vast bulk
