![]() | What should I be looking out? I'm on the road to lose bodyfat! What should I be looking out for on the packaging of foods? Like how many grams of fat am I allowed, how many carbs and sugars etc. I get the calories bit, i'm keeping count. Just want some guidance on the other stuff thanks. |

Watch out for trans/hydrogenated fats,cut out completely,also be wary of hidden sugars(corn/glucose syrup,malto etc.) and salt content(sodium x 2.5) With regards fat make sure you are still consuming the good stuff(fish oils,olive oil,nuts/seeds,flax,egg yolks etc.) Just an observation,but from your avvy,you don't look like you are carrying much excess anyway.

Often manufacturers only list the sodium content in their foods as this figure appears lower than the salt equivalent Sodium = salt. (RDA of salt = 5-6g) If only the sodium figure is listed,times this amount by 2.5 to give the salt amount,so 1g sodium = 2.5g salt Avoid processed foods as this is where trans/hydrogenated fats and excess salt is found.
