![]() | 2 Quick Questions Diets getting really boring now, so i've been looking for new foods to swap and change. So my questions are as follows: 1. Does anyone buy the pre-cooked chicken from Tesco/Asda etc (the ones where they have various flavours like tikka). Currently using Fresh Turkey and marinating it and cooking it myself. Getting fed up with the taste and the endless times in front of the George Foreman. Was looking at the ingredients of the pre packed stuff and it contains dextrose and stabilisers, i'm eating clean throughout the day so would this have any serious affects on my diet? 2. Pre-Workout meals - currently eating wholemeal pitta and a tin of tuna along with some salad. Tried having a shake (mixture of cabrs/protein) but I don't feel I have the same amount of energy by just having a drink. Normally eat about an hour before workout and just wanted other peoples thoughts on pre-workout food ta Chris |

![]() | Re: 2 Quick Questions i eat the prepacked stuff.. imho its fine as long as it hasnt has sh1t loads of water added. i also buy the bags of frozen diced chicken from iceland and there bags of mixed veg and rice. a meal in a wok in 8 mins add a dash of worcester sauce. blob of tommy k tastes it up nicely. for fresh ideas add salsa with the turkey or chicken makes a nice difference. or plain chicken and fresh eggs pasta, has a nice taste without the blandness of the dry stuff. pre work out i eat and hour before and have a preworkout caffeine creatine drink or a strong brew. postworkout i find the most important window of opportunity. have a drink of egg protein and whey with beef extract supplement for a nice mix of proteins. and a good mix of protein and good carbs an hour later.

It probably isn't going to hurt your diet but you can cook stuff in bulk and defrost it. Food prep is a pain in the @ss but you have to do it. Look at the recipe section there are some great meals in there. With regard to your pre-workout meal I would always advise food over a shake.
