Re: best for fat loss

Not really mate, cardio is cardio, running may be slightly more effective because of the physiological requirements.

TBH 40mins on a bike at 65% of Max heart rate 4 times a week will suffice.

Don't be afraid to mix it up to google HIIT (high intensity interval training) it is harder to do but takes less time and boosts your metabolism for longer.

Remember that diet is way more important.

Good luck, Jock

Re: best for fat loss

30 Mins am cardio (second you wake up) on a bike with out eating.
Best way to burn fat, well thats what I have found and also 35 mins cross trainer in evening.
Diet is king too. Eating 6 times a day small sizes is good!

Keep doing what your doing at the moment if your new to it...then when you begin to plateu start adding more cardio in.

Don't make the mistake of most and jump straight into an experienced gym-goers routine and burn yourself out as well as not being able to get great results on less work

Re: best for fat loss

You could do intensive dish washing so long as it got the heart pumping it would help

(mind, the wife would also suspect something was up, so best to stick to running etc)

Re: best for fat loss

The most effective cardio to burn fat is cardio carried out at a moderate pace as this taps into the fat stores normally after about 20min higher intensity like running will burn more calories but most of them will be from carbs....

when i diet i do 7.5hrs of cardio per week when i am off season i do 2hrs per week what i am trying to say is that if you are after fatloss 20min here and there will not cut it.

Re: best for fat loss

Well if you found 20 minutes hard work, do 20 minutes one week, then if you still find it difficult, do it the week after as well, then knock it up to 30, then 40. If you've never really done cardio before i wouldn't push your heart through too much, just take it easy and like everyones said, a good diet !!

good luck
