Too much cardio????

Is there such a thing as too much cardio

You hear people saying about your body getting used to repetive activitys, so if you are doing gentle cardio everyday, like cycling a 20 mile round trip to work (as i do), is your body still going to reap the benifits

sorry for the dumb question, its my blondness

Re: Too much cardio????

Too much cardio will eat into your recovery powers, same way too much weight training would.

The body needs rest!!

EDIT, didnt read your question properly lol, you will still burn calories, but yes your body will adapt.

Unless you go faster or further from a fitness point of view you will stay the same.

Re: Too much cardio????

The only cardio i am doing at the mo is biking to work each day, it isnt anything intense but i have been trying some hiit work on the way in aswel on an empty stomach and get something to eat when i get there.

I might just have a days rest in between i think now.

Re: Too much cardio????

Best cardio to prevent body adaption and good for BB'ers is called HIT training (High Intensity Training)

Works very roughly like this 15 min total. - 2 min moderate pace and 2 mins all out pelt. run a few cycles that like and after 10-15 mins you will feel like you want to die. Good for the heart and burning fat, doesn't take long and people say it's good as a 30-40 minuite run. I know i feel better doing HIT over 40 minutes..
