takeone has a spectacular aura abouttakeone has a spectacular aura about
getting fats in

i've started carb cycling today & i need to get some more fats in my diet.
i eat peanut butter & make salad dressing.
i was thinking of having a handfull of nuts with some meals that need extra fat.
which nuts would be best?
any other foods i could add?
thanks.

Re: getting fats in

Macadamia nuts are the lowest in carbs of any nut.
Almonds are probably the most healthful.
Carefull on the peanut butter as many brands have hydrogenated oils, stick to the natural stuff.
Avacado's are awesome, olive oil is awesome (extra virgin), and you can make salad dressing with olive oil and apple cider vinegar.
Flax is ok, but fish oils have a better profile of Omega 3's and contain DHA which studies show aids in fat loss, and mental health (hell that is necessary on a diet anyway).

But all in all, keto diets are ok to use any fat, it wont matter much, I am not so sold on the demonization of saturated fats.
But some nuts are higher in carbs like peanuts, so you need to add those carb grams in with your overall picture of things or you can be tossed right out of fat burning (ketosis).

Oh so childish,

I too like cashews, not a fan of avocado, I don't like the texture of it.

Raw almonds are very good for you, Macadamia as hack said are king of the keto nuts, but pricey too.

Is Macademia oil expensive? Do most supermarkets have it?
