when to eat after working out?

As a rule, I usually eat right after I lift, but wait an hour after cardio to eat to maximize fat burning. I am trying to get lean now, and I added a cardio session after my lifting days, so should I eat right after the cardio on these days, or wait an hour? I know that muscles are starving after lifting, but since I am trying to lean down, should I wait an hour even after my lifting/running days?

Well, I might get flamed here but after a workout the muscles are starving for fuel.
Catabolizm is not prefered by any means.
I have heard 30 minutes, within 45 minutes and even up to 2 hours.
Personally, I feel that the within 45 minute rule might be the best.

JUST MY OPINION ONLY AND I MIGHT BE WRONG!

Ok but I feel that diet is key for looking lean and being lean.
No sence in being lean without some muscle to show.
Not saying that you dont have muscle but the more muscle you have the leaner you can get so to speak.
The requirement for fuel is somewhat dependant on your lean muscle mass. The more lean muscle mass the more the requirement for fuel to rebuild the muscle and the more requirement to fuel the muscle.
So dieting would be easier for someone who has more lean muscle mass.

I think now more than ever, going anti-catabolic when dieting would be the best thing you could do.

So getting a supplement that would help you to be anti-catabolic would be good no matter what, especially dieting.

Sorry, bro! I don’t know if I helped you here especially rambling on like I did!

GoldenArrow will become famous soon enough
Protein shake straight away, then protein and fats until bed. Keep carbs to AM if trying to lose fat.

I agree with GoldenArrow. Supplement with a protein shake or equivalent if combining cv and resistance training immediately afterwards, leave consumption for an hour or two and then proteins and fats until bedtime. This is the least productive part of your time health wise so carbs are a no-no if you're trying to lose weight.
