Wanna lose some bf! (Injury etc. read)

I'm having surgery on my shoulder soon,
They told me to avoid weights before...
And told me i wouldn't be able to train for atleast a year...
So i'd like some advice on how to lose bf along with doing cardio?!

Having a good diet and doing cardio should be enough to loose plenty of bf.
