waist measurement in relation to bf%

im just doin this for reasearch as im trying to wrok out as an average as i know everyone is different but roughly how much your waist size differes in relation to dropping bf.

ie... if someone has a 34 inch waist at 12 percent. what can they expect there waist to be if they went sub 10%

im hoping a few guys will know what there own measurements where so i can come up with some kind of average.

the only ones i know is that i had a 40 inch waist (measured at belly button) when i was 25% and it went down to 32 when i aproached 10%

but at 32 inch waist @10% how big do you reckon my waist would be at say 8%

Re: waist measurement in relation to bf%

It does not work like that mate applying an average is not always going to give you reliable info.

However just for fun if you went down to 8% the answer would be:

30.125 inches

Re: waist measurement in relation to bf%

i know its not gonna be accurate but maybe if i got some real results, we maybe able to come with some kind of pattern.

your one of the ideal people to ask tbh. i mean you just done a good comp diet so you must have ideas of what your waist was at the different precentages of bf?

you started at 13% yeah??? what was your waist size, and what was it when you competed??

call it an obsession with waist sizes i think its cos i used to be fat with a 40 inch waist. im now obsessed with getting down.... right down!

Re: waist measurement in relation to bf%

Wouldn't people be different sizes due to the structure of their body?

If I ripped down to single digit bodyfat it doesn't mean my waist size would be the same size as Del's ripped waist size. I'd be interested in more information myself TBH.

Good question, Andy.

Re: waist measurement in relation to bf%

i know everyones structure is different whcih is the main problem but one of the main things im trying to look for is

1... how much weight in lbs can you expect to loose by dropping one inch of your waist

and 2... in relation to that, percent bodyfat decrease when dropping 1 inch from your waist.

again, i know its not going to be accurate.

Re: waist measurement in relation to bf%

I will need to get back to you on stats cause I dont remember from the top of my head.

Though I do have most of my progress written down month to month.

Competition day I was around 30 inch waist, but did not measure it the last week or so cause for some strange reason the closer you get to comp day the more you stay away from numbers and just go by how you look in the mirror.
