Question Want to lose b/f but keep gains

Hi people,

I have been training now for about 3 - 4 months and have made some very good gains. Problem is that bf is covered it.

I am now looking to lose some bf but keep the gains I have made... What sort of things should I try and do? I have been told that dieting is not a good way to lose bf that I should increase cardio etc instead.

Can someone help me get though the confusion

Andy

youve got to diet mate, theres no other way.

diet makes up the most of losing fat, cardio will just aid and speed up the process.

have a look at the timed carb sticky at the top of the diet section. this works pretty good.

im carb cycling as above, and doing 45 mins cardio per day. and ive gone from 16% to around 9-10% in about 6-8 weeks.

last year i lost 35lbs of fat in about 5 months carb cycling so it does work.

Re: Want to lose b/f but keep gains

I used a year of diet and exercise and lost three stone.

I used diet and exercise and an ECA stack to help and lost an extra lb in that week.

I diet and exercise and tried a Clen/T3 combo for a week and lost an extra 3lbs in that week but was very sweaty and jumpy. I would never use them again and I didn't like feeling creeped out all the time and I was afraid of permanantly buggering up my thyroid.

I used DNP for two weeks and lost 14lbs. I was very hot and very tired. In the 2nd week, I hadn't the energy to exercise.

Now I am back to diet, exercise and an ECA stack for energy and appitite suppression. I wear a heart moniter and try to ensure a 2000 calorie diffrence between the calories I take in (about 1500 daily) and those burned (about 3500 daily). I'm losing 2-3lbs a week. No sides. No loss in energy. Getting fitter, getting leaner.

Sounds like you are getting some bad advice from what I can gather from your posts. Why put in the same amount of fuel to just have to burn more? Why not be clever and reduce your calories therefore having less to burn. It's common sense.

I agree 100% with Del. If you add cardio you'll increase the speed at which you lose the weight. Whoever told that dieting wasn't the way to reduce your bodyfat either likes cardio (and more than likely being catabolic) or doesn't know how to diet...

No it won't !!!! if your fats and carbs are to low but your protein is high your body will convert protein into simple sugers to be used for energy....

the best way to diet is to find out what your BMR is so you can determine how many calories you need to maintain your current weight then reduce this by 500cals a day at the start then when the fat starts to drop reduce again....one way of doing this is carb cycling do a search on the board and you will get lots of info and diet ideas....good luck
