![]() | Girlfriend wants to lose weight.. Hi guys! My first post! So the story is my girlfriend is about 5'2 around 135lbs and she wants to lose some weight. Currently, she goes to the gym on M/T/TH/F/Sunday. During her time at the gym, she's on the treadmill doing a fast paced walk for about 30 mins and on the eliptical for another 30mins. Is this a good way for her to tone down and drop some pounds? All comments and info would be greatly appreciated thanks. Jon |

Also I think women need to get away from the scales and think about bodyfat. Some cardio is good, but this 'toning' up, well that is weight training. Women are so afraid to 'look bulky' or put on muscle. I am at my tiniest when I am competing, it is the fat that takes up all the extra space. If she hasn't trained before, an all over body workout three times a week is a good place to start. Respect T |

Women get smaller when they lift weights. Weight lifting is by far the best and fastest approach to fat loss for a man or woman. After a good workout you can burn fat for up to 3 days using weights/resistance training. Cardio does not offer this luxury. Other than that, there are many diets to choose from, I myself like the lower carb approach as it curbs hunger much better and I tend to stay more strict doing it this way.
