Girlfriend needs help!

Hi again,
I have recently booked a holiday with my girlfriend, and we fly off on the 25th of september. Ive been with her just over 7 months now but in that time we have done what typical couples do a eat, become comfortable and lazy etc and we have put on approx a few stones, i put on 2 stone and she put on 3 stone!

She is now worried about going on holiday because of her weight, so i got her to join a gym and now need a good diet and gym rountine to get her into shape.

Im also getting in to shape but i am going to be doing pscarbs advice from a while back, over 0.75 carbs per lb of BW and 1.5 protien per lb of bw with loads of good fats, four cardio sessions a week of 40min walking with incline plus 4 weight sessions, with protein supplements and fat burners.

I suggested her following my diet and gym routine but am worried that things may be slightly different for woman? And before we put on weight she was 9 stone exactly but that was a mixture of weight watchers diet and making her self sick alot, so now i believe her metabolism is very slow as fat just comes on very quickly when she eats wrong and then is a very very slow process to get off if she just diets.

She is 5ft 7inch and now 12 stone, and her worst areas are around the legs bum, tummy etc! she is very weak in strengh e.g 1 squat of her own body weight is all she can do. I dont want her making her self sick and starving her self because she gets ill and binges and basically becomes very depressed.

So for long winded explaination, just wanted to give you all a better idea of what shes like so you could maybe give her some good advice for her, with foods, how many meals a day, gym routines, supplements e.g protein or fat burners.

Or am i correct making her follow my routine?

any help or tips appreciated please. Thanks james

to be honest mate.. get her in the gym and eating clean job done... no need for fat burners etc

make sure she does lots of cardio 4 days a week at the gym doin cardio and a few weights... 10mins every mornin on an empty stomach will work wonders aswell...

some of the girlies may reply and help

if u think she has a slow motabalism get her thyroid checked by the doctor...

3 stone is quite a big gain % wise to her original weight...

7 months is a fairly long time to drop some of it tho

if my girl put on 3Lbs there'd be trouble

Hey James,

Sounds like my story. Got married, moved with hubby back to UK and put on that much weight in 6-9 months.

Good news, if you piled it on that fast, good chance you might be mesomorphs, which means you can take it off quite quickly too.

The link above shows some of my before and after pics, and there is another link on that site to a whole thread of amazing transformations.

I do think that lifting weights is one of the best ways for women to lose weight, get a great shape and keep the flab away.

Weights almost every day keeps the flab away, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm like that!

It will take about 21 weeks to lose 3 stone though.

From another post.

Ah yes, the old myth of women getting bulky with weights.
Women get smaller when they lift weights.

Weight lifting is by far the best and fastest approach to fat loss for a man or woman.
After a good workout you can burn fat for up to 3 days using weights/resistance training.
Cardio does not offer this luxury.

Other than that, there are many diets to choose from, I myself like the lower carb approach as it curbs hunger much better and I tend to stay more strict doing it this way.
