insulin spikes with whey protein

im aware of this happening but can anyone explain how???

fair enough the average shake contains a couple of grams of simple sugars but i wouldnt of thought they would cause insulin spikes.

the reason i ask is that i find it hard to eat evry 3 hrs when im at work so ive been eating a good meal, mainly chicken, veg and fats (oil or fish oils) and alternating with a whey shake made with skimmed milk, with either and apple and fish oils or a hand full of nuts and seeds.

i know this isnt perfect for loosing fat but its the only way of getting protien at work without upsetting the man in charge.

should i maybe change the skimmed milk to semi or even full fat????
