![]() | Beginner needing help Alright guys, first of all fantastic site, i've been sat here looking through posts/comments etc for about 2 and a half hours now. Any hoo, i weigh 25 stone and stand at 6'3" tall, so obviously im well overweight. After seeing a good mate of mine train for the past 4 years and see him grow both physically and mentally, im jealous of him. I've spent the last 4 years partying, drinking, and enjoying myself and not giving a sh*t about my body. This mentality has seen me go from 18 stone to a massive 25 stone and seeing my confidence and general outgoing being shot down. So tonight i am making a stance, im making a change. I can't explain it (maybe some of you have experienced this before) but something inside me has snapped/clicked and im going to change myself, my lifestyle etc. I want to get into shape and really get into bodybuilding/training. I have the determination and will to do this and its something that really excites me. I'm 22 years old and live in Manchester, and whilst i do have the will and determination i dont quite have the knowledge yet. I need to know about calorie intake, training i should be doing, cardio etc etc. So basically i thought i would introduce myself, and let you know i'll be around a lot taking in any tips i read on posts etc. So if any of you have any tips for me - food to eat, calories intake, a good regime to follow it would be well appreciated. Thanks for reading, and as i say, any help would be appreciated. Thanks again. |

![]() | Cheers for the replies guys. Might sound a bit 'movie' but i got up this morning with more energy than i've had for a long time...and i haven't even done anything yet, it was just the fact that i knew i was going to be doing something and that my life was changing that day. Anyway, i was up at 6.30am this morning, i had a quick breakfast of oats and 2 eggs and went to the gym. Now i wasn't/aren't to sure on what is best for pre-workout so i thought i'd go with that breakfast before the gym. Anyway, at the gym with a bodybuilding mate of mine, and i concentrated on cardio work, i did 45 minutes of cardio before i started to feel knackered. I had a 10 minute break and topped up with some much needed water, then set out doin 30 minutes lifting. When we finished there i had a protein shake (purchased at the gym, im not sure on the brand) and had a can of tuna and a slice of wholemeal bread. At the moment im aching but i feel really good. As i said before im not to sure if im eating the right things at the right times, should i be having more protein PWO? Should i be eating what i ate pre-workout? Any suggestions on training? Should i concentrate on cardio more, of lifting more? Any suggestions would be great, thanks again guys, your an inspiration. |

Make sure you get a good whey protein shake (60g whey) in after training with some simple carbs (40g) ![]()
