Sprained ankle

I sprained my ankle 10 days ago. For the first couple of days I could barely walk but it got a lot better.

Monday and Tuesday I went to the gym, didn't do anything too strenuous on the ankle - worst was 10 mins on the elliptical.

Since then it's hurt a fair bit, so my limp is back. The pain is on the outside and top of the foot near the ankle, but no swelling or bruising.

Anyone know how long it takes to go away and when I can get back to training?

Re: Sprained ankle

I'd recommend RICE. Rest Ice Compression Elevation that could help but generally this treatment works well almost straight after the injury has occured.
As for how long well that could depend upon many things such as the severity of the sprain etc

Re: Sprained ankle

Yeah I did that - it's been quite nasty the last few days but the NHS website says 2-4 weeks so I'll stick it out for a bit longer
