Ankle pain

Hi guys ive recently started working out and im doing quite a bit of cardio work at the moment to get fitter before i hit the weights. I go on the treadmill 3/4 times a week for 20 minutes each time, and my ankles have swollen up and im finding it really painfull to walk. Has anybody else had this problem before? have my ankles swollen because im not use to running?. Im only 21 i wouldnt consider my self really unfit im 5ft 11 and 78kg. Thanks in adavance

i agree, trying a change of footwear could be the solution - if not cold be over use issue - have you tried varying your cardio, tryin other pieces of equipment ?

Re: Ankle pain

I get exactly the same thing after about 5 minutes on the treadmill. I thought it might be because I'v put on a lot of weight in a short time my ankles havn't adapted yet? For now I just use the cross-trainer, bike and rowing machine as it doesn't affect me on them. In a couple of months I am going to try the treadmill again and see if it gets better. Did your new trainers help??
