Re: Straight Leg Deadlifts

I would personally keep them as they are a good exercise for your hams but of course your going to feel them in your back as any sort of dead lift you will fel in the lower back!

I say just keep them and see the progress

As for your comment getting there, looks you aint getting no where fast especially with comments like that!!!!!

Re: Straight Leg Deadlifts

these might help you, if not then i am sure some1 else will add a video of them doing it hope these help for the time being though!

what you have got to remember is to keep the bar as close to the legs as possible and on every rep feel it in your hams, remember though as its a dead lift you will also feel it in your lower back as this is normal with most/all dead lifts!

That's because he isn't doing it correctly.

The link ah24 posted up is pretty damn close. IMO he's still coming a bit far down as he's not pushing his glutes/hips back quite far enough - and his legs are slightly too far bent. But it's probably the closest example you will see from a video on the internet.

What experience/qualifications do you have to offer your opinion on it? By the sounds of it, very little if you think its a 'ballistic' stretch.
Nice post

Re: Straight Leg Deadlifts

right i did these how you said. Now the feeling i got was.

Back - little ache which i think is normal

Hamstrings - never burned but felt really tired.

Now weighjt wise i used 50Kg dumbells. Does this sound right.

Try using the bar..

And no, doesnt really sound right - what sort of gym are training at? Take one of the more experienced guys to have a look at your form as its difficult to advise on here.
