![]() | Muscle Name and Recovery Advice Hi I've picked up an injury to one of my muscles, probably from lack of stretching at Kickboxing. The problem with it is that a) I don't know the exact nae of it and b) It doesn't seem to be recovering. The muscle is at the top of the my thigh, inside my leg between my hamstring and my thigh. I think it's called the Gracilis or the Adductor Longus? It's very high on my leg, quite close to my "equipment" haha! Edit: After some research, I'd say its definately the Abductus Longus. Anyway, I've been treating it with rest, stretching it out a little in a red hot bath and applying Tiger Balm to it twice daily (like a heat rub type material). But after a week it doesn't seem to be shifting. I've pulled it before and recovered very fast. It hurts to press from the inside of my leg pushing into my thigh. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by SDR; 01-08-2007 at 09:47 AM. |

Its not an abdductor muscle which you mentioned in your 'edit' sentance. Secondly, id say just keep doing what your doing, but stop stretching it. Just leave it to heal. |

![]() | Re: Muscle Name and Recovery Advice I was told to lightly stretch it, because apparently it heals as scar tissue and so you need to lightly stretch to ensure it heals with a degree of elasticity... so it doesn't just go again once healed. |

Who told you this? Maybe Paul.B can give his opinion on it if he comes across this thread. |
